Joypurhat Sadar (Template:Lang-bn) is an Upazila of Joypurhat District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
Geography
Joypurhat Sadar is located at 25°50′30″N 89°02′30″E / 25.8417°N 89.0417°E . It has 45484 units of house hold and total area 238.54 km².
Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Joypurhat Sadar has a population of 225271. Males constitute are 52.18% of the population, and females 47.82%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 123804. Joypurhat Sadar has an average literacy rate of 33.1% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]

Joypurhat Sadar has 10 Unions and 1 first-class municipality, 198 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 192 villages.
Education
Joypurhat girls cadet college is the 2nd girls cadet college of Bangladesh.Joypurhat govt.college is the highest educational institute of this district.This college is situated near the Joypurhat rail station which is established in 1963.Joypurhat R.B, govt.high school is the highest school of this district.This school was established in 1946 by Ramdeo Bajla,a great person. The school is located in main road.The popular name of this school is "Bajla school".This school has got national recogniton in 1977.Many brilliant students come out from this institution.Sanjidur Rahman Chowdhury is one of them.He is studying in University of Dhaka now in Department of Geography & Environment. Joypurhat Govt. Girls' High School is one of the famous schools in the district. It was established in 1960 and nationalised in the year of 1977. The results of this school are brilliant. Passing percentage is 100 in both Junior and Secondary School Certificate examinations.
Important places
Joypurhat sugar mills limited is the largest autonomous sugar mill of country. Pagla Dewan boddhovumi is a country's important monument. In the Belamla village there are historical "barashibalaya temple" and "akshibalaya temple".Both are famous historical place. Shahid doctor Abul Kasem Maidan is the main point of this upazilla.The central shahid minar of Joypurahat district is situated here.
