Thanks for responding. I only asked because you remind me of a certain Kevin from NYS. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Twin Skies Logo.png)

Thanks for uploading File:Twin Skies Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:45, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE July 2013 news report

Guild of Copy Editors July 2013 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter
  • Participation: Out of 30 people who have signed up for this drive so far, 18 have participated. If you have signed up for the drive but have not yet participated, it isn't too late. If you haven't signed up for the drive, sign up now!
  • Progress report: Thus far we have reduced the number of May/June 2012 articles to just 124 articles, so we're on the right track. Unfortunately, for the first time in GOCE history, the number of articles in the backlog has actually gone up during this drive. While all participants are currently doing a fine job, we just don't have as many of them as we have had in the past. We have over 500 editors on our mailing list, but only 18 editors who have done a copy edit for the drive. If you're receiving this newsletter, it's because you have an interest in copy editing. Join the drive! Even if you only copy edit one article, it helps. Imagine how much progress we could make if everyone chipped in just one article.

Images

Hi, I haven't talked to you for a very long time (guess there was no point)! Can you be so kind and see this user's sandbox? He is in need of a photo of Damon Matthew Wise which he claimed can be found on his official website, Facebook, and bunch of Irish Damon Matthew Wise-related sites.--Mishae (talk) 02:00, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! Sorry for this very late reply - I wasn't active when you left me that message. Not sure if you found an answer, but here is mine either way (better late than never, eh?): the images he mentions are most likely copyrighted, and not released under a free license compatible with Wikipedia. Copyrighted files like video game covers or movie scenes are allowed to be used on Wikipedia, since no free alternative would realistically exist. A picture of a person, though, could be realistically freely licensed by its author, so it's required. Nice to hear from you! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 07:00, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bat Species in your photo

The bat species in your photo on Wikimedia (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dead_Bat.jpg#file) is the big brown bat, Eptesicus fuscus. It also appears to be a juvenile bat (you can tell by the proportion of ears to head and body size).

Thanks for the bacon award

Thanks very much for the 2012 Bacon Award.

My latest contribution on the topic was the first WP:FA on Wikipedia within the subject matter, Everything Tastes Better with Bacon.

Not sure if you'd come across that quality improvement project yet.

Hope you're doing well,

SVG

Quick question. I downloaded Inkspace and opened the file. But I feel like I'm missing something. I see that they have the states outside the margins of the image for users to just move into place, but they don't fit right. Am I missing something? Thank you! EvergreenFir (talk) 06:28, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hrm...I opened it up and experimented a bit. You're right that the states don't fit exactly, but it's, well, close enough. That's just the design - if you look at the navy-colored states already placed onto the map, such as Massachusetts, they don't fit exactly, either. That's fine though, and it turns out all right in this situation where 100% border-exactness isn't needed. If you click and drag the state you want (yea Utah!), position it the best you can, and give it the white border, I think it should be fine :) ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:39, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! I'll give it a shot! (Yea Utah!!!) EvergreenFir (talk) 06:43, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, no problem! If you need anything else, let me know. It's been a while since I messed with SVGs, but hey, it's nice to mess around with them again. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 06:46, 21 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bloons TD

Hey! Thanks for the help at the Teahouse!

I was wondering if you could point me toward what needs cleaning up in the Bloons Tower Defense article. The article also lacks citations; do you know a good place to find refs for video games?

Thank you! Bananasoldier (talk) 21:18, 30 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Happy to help.
Regarding the article, great job so far. It's been a while since I've worked on article content and I'm not the hottest in that department, but I'll give the article a look. This seems like a good way for me to get back into it ;)
Overall coverage of each game looks good, but I also think it's a bit long. Excessive gameplay detail isn't desirable for an encyclopedia, such as lists of all the types of towers, bloon colors, etc. (particularly for Bloons TD 4). Focusing on the key features and biggest changes between each game (graphics, game modes, new features, etc.) are the most important.
I think the next best place to look at is the reception section, since it only mentions a couple of games right now. It's complicated since it's going to cover the entire series. I'd look at the Grand Theft Auto series' reception section as a good example; we can provide an overall impression of the entire series, then get into game-specific ratings (with a table?).
Also, question: I believe the article should be moved to Bloons TD, since the series seems to have been renamed? Unless I'm missing something.
For reliable sources related to video gaming, Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Sources provides more information than you could ever want about video game sourcing. This list provides a comprehensive list of commonly accepted sources, along with custom Google searches set up so your search only returns results from the listed websites. Hope this helps! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 00:59, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Whoa! I really appreciate your extensive coverage. Thanks! Bananasoldier (talk) 02:56, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeppp! Feel free to ask if need anything else :) ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 02:59, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Is it okay for me to copy your advice to the article's talk page so I can easily reference it there and others may see it? Thanks! Bananasoldier (talk) 07:04, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
