The problem with this ticketing system is that only an OTRS agent can view it. Given this information, we cannot rely on this OTRS ticket to disprove that TVXQ's Cassiopeia did not have the largest fanclub. It is basically similar to the Textpert but much more unreliable since it came from supposedly Guinness World Record to an agent to a Wikipedia user (?) without any photographic evidence. This information alone is not sufficient to debunk the Cassiopeia theory. Also, this knowledge has been supported by the main broadcasting companies in Korea, KBS, MBC, and SBS, the most recent one being 2013 when Psy's Guinness certificate, and TVXQ's 2 Guinness records were announced. Erase the statement unless you get a direct evidence that we can all see that came from Guinness World Records.

P.S. Textpert is related to the Guinness World Records for it is on the back page of the Guinness World Record Book for people to contact, and know the records.

DBSK, not TVXQ.

Hi , i feel that since DBSK/TVXQ are korean , they should be called DBSK on wiki. It is their ORIGINAL korean name in abbreviation, and i feel that this is more right than to call them TVXQ . Their original name is DongBangShinGi after all. Please do change it. Thank you.

You are absolutely correct. DBSK is the official abbreviation of their real Korean name. Since the article is about a Korean group, it should use the official abbreviation used in Korea and closest to their official name. I remember that this page has been changed to put the Korean name first several times and it always gets changed back by someone shortly thereafter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 14.34.143.19 (talk) 15:56, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 15 April 2013 - Guiness World Records

I'm requesting the removal of the information regarding TVXQ! winning the Guiness World Records for having the largest fanclub. This is somewhat incorrect as even though TVXQ! had broken the record of biggest official fanclub (Leader Jung Yunho had stated this here at around the 5:17 mark), Guiness World Records does not recognise the category. A 'reliable' source does not exist for this as all sources involve directly contacting Guiness World Records and do not leave public sources. However, screenshots of emails exist on the allkpop forums (link here) and I have personally contacted them as well to confirm it. Thank you. Vers01 (talk) 10:14, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Done Thank you for pointing this out. I have removed the text about Guinness World Records. Michaelzeng7 (talk) 21:00, 30 April 2013 (UTC) 21:02, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about this, but under Awards and achievements, there are still a few sentences about the world records. I have changed my request back into unanswered for now. Vers01 (talk) 22:12, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please make your request in a "change X to Y" format. - You need to propose exact wording for the change(s) you want to be made, in the form of "Please change X to Y", or "Please remove X". The linked sources mention connection with more than one Guinness Record, and, although they are not the best sources, it is unclear exactly what you want the revised article to say. So as to avoid the change needing to be continually remade, please provide your exact proposed wording. Thanks. Begoontalk 02:49, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think before these sourced sentences are removed, solid proof should be presented. The world record was reported by Korean and international news outlets as well, including KBS, one of South Korea's largest TV stations. I doubt they would base their sources on groundless fan rumours in such cases. The screenshots on a fan forum doesn't prove anything, anyone can fake emails as well. The solution would be if a Wikipedian contacted Guinness Records and had their answer sent to the OTRS system, so we would have an official letter of proof. Then the solution would be not to delete the info but to add, that despite serious sources, official answer from Guinness says that they have no such records. These claims on TVXQ and world records are so wide-spread knowledge that it's going to be put back into the article in other wikis as well. If we want this to stop, we have to state something along these lines: "Despite X and Z sources claiming that TVXQ's fabclub Cassiopeia was certified as the largest official fanclub in the world,{sources} Guinness Book of Records confirmed that no such certification was issued.{OTRS ticket}. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 08:01, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly seems like we need some sort of consensus if we are going to make a change - that's why I was reluctant to just go ahead here. Hopefully the discussion is now going to develop towards an agreed version. Begoontalk 08:34, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have contacted Guinness and the reply email can be read by OTRS agents under the ticket id 2013050810012528. The response is the following:

Thank you for contacting GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.

To answer your question;

We currently have a category for the largest fanclub for a group, but no record has yet been set and we haven’t been provided with any evidence.

We do not have a record for the most photographed celebrity as this would be impossible to measure accurately. We do have the most money paid for celebrity photographs, and things like that, but not this record.

I think we should amend the info in the article referring to the OTRS ticket number. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 21:18, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please rewrite performance skill section

The Performance skill section needs an overhaul for fancruft and tone. "Sounding exactly like their CD" is open to a lot of interpretation: it can be viewed as good in that they can sing in-tune, or bad that they can just lip sync during a live performance or not stretch their vocal abilities or show variety on a song beyond what they did in the studio. Why should dancing be a strength? Did they win dance contests or music video/concert awards for best choreography because of it? Did they inspire dancing crazes like the twist, the moonwalk or Gangnam Style? Why the three hours? Are they on stage the entire time singing? At a festival they might perform for a single set (no more than an hour). It's very vague. Also the statements in the section to be supported and sourced by reliable secondary media sources, particularly by music analysts and critics. An anonymous writer who writes that they are the "kings of K-pop" or "continuously improving" does not have the same weight as a music critic for a major publisher, or a company that gives official awards and title recognitions. -AngusWOOF (talk) 05:15, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Same problem with Music Removed (MR). Is that even a notable chart? Have they released MR versions that have charted nationally on Gaon or Oricon? And how is popularity judged from there? Did it break any Youtube records? Did it make headline entertainment news? -AngusWOOF (talk) 06:47, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In answer to the MR chart, it was posted by Mnet. Thanks for providing the source. The other parts of that section still need improvement. Fans commenting that they are great singers and dancers do not count as analysis. -AngusWOOF (talk) 05:33, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

South Korea weekly music charts

footnote 1 states: "Unlike in other countries, South Korea's charts, supplied by the Music Industry of Korea, only publish monthly and yearly rankings. All rankings for Korean records in this article refer to the monthly charts and all rankings for Japanese records refer to the Oricon's weekly charts unless otherwise stated. "

This statement is dated or needs year(s) added for clarification as South Korea DOES have the weekly singles and albums charts, namely Gaon and Billboard K-Pop. -AngusWOOF (talk) 05:28, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gaon Chart launched in 2010 so it is safe to say that before 2010 there was no weekly chart. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 12:56, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dr.K.

Looks like the well known Kpop hater Dr.K. is trying to diminish this page as well https://sites.google.com/site/drkdrmies/ Badbutgood34 (talk) 08:55, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Fanclub section

I took out the reference to KGB Answers as source for the Guinness record claim. Let's not be ridiculous, ok? The source was given as http://www.kgbanswers.com/which-band-has-the-largest-official-fanclub/3853260, which in turn gives th source for the world record as this website: [1] - a fan blog. KGB Answers, in contrast with the claim in the article that it sources the Guiness database, gives a fan blog as source to the claim. It's ridiculous to accept this as a reliable source, going against a verified answer from the Guinness company. Teemeah 편지 (letter) 12:44, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
