  • Comment: Many of the references are regurgitated press releases and PR material. These must be replaced or removed, please. They provide an aura of faux notability which is not required and adds no value. Indeed it diminishes Wikipedia's value.
We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42
It remains an advert, the pseudo-references contribute to that. Fiddle Faddle 09:13, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
  • Comment: In response to your query on my talk page, Wikipedia doesn't really care about the company's history in a timeline format. This is not a business directory or a profile for investors. You should also write an article, not a timeline or list of facts. — kikichugirl oh hello! 21:19, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

MyNetFone Limited (ASX:MNF) owns and operates Australia’s largest VoIP network..[1] [2], which is also the 3rd largest interconnected voice network in the country[3]. MyNetFone provides broadband internet and cloud-based communication services to residential, business and government sectors. [4] [5]

The MyNetFone Group encompasses multiple brands in the Voice and Data industry including; CallStream[6], Connexus[7], PennyTel[8][9], iBoss[7], MyNetFone (retail) and Symbio Networks.[1][10] [11]

MyNetFone was founded in 2004 by co-founders Mr Rene Sugo (CEO) and Andy Fung (NonExec. Director & former CEO)[1]. The company was first listed on the Australian Securities Exchange [12][13] (ASX:MNF) in May 2006.[14][15]

The company was recently awarded Forbes 'Asia's Best Under a Billion' (2014) [16] and Australia’s fastest growing ASX-listed telco (Business Review Weekly Fast 100 2014) [17].

Company Background

The company was Founded in 2004[8][18] and employs around 120 staff across four states of Australia. Its headquarters is based in Sydney, NSW[9]. MyNetFone provides cloud-based communication and internet services to business, government and residential sectors.[19] The company owns and operates the largest VoIP (voice over internet protocol) network in Australia[1][20], which is reported to carry more than 3 billion voice minutes annually [21] [22] [6] – accounting for 10% of total voice communications in Australia. [23] MyNetFone operates globally, supplying services to Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.[24] [9][25]

Company History

In 2004 MyNetFone was co-founded by Mr Rene Sugo and Andy Fung[8]. The company’s progress was that of a typical start up, and only really started to gain significant momentum two years later when in May 2006 MyNetFone was officially listed on the Australian Securities Exchange(ASX:MNF)[26]. In August that same year MyNetFone proved the StartUp had big company ambitions with its decision to take its service globally and launched into the New Zealand and Singapore Market.[12]

The company then expanded its target market and services to converged VoIP and internet solutions for SME and business enterprise market.[27] In September 2006 MyNetFone acquired a new subsidiary called Board IP Pty Limited. This was the company’s first acquisition.[24]

In 2007 MyNetFone decided to advance its product repertoire to encompass more portable solutions. The company ventured into the mobile market and offered a mobile VOIP service, called MNF On-the-Go[28], this offer would be later expanded into new smartphone mobile applications and mobile VoIP software[29]. Also in 2007 MyNetFone launched a new redirect call feature called ‘Follow Me” a service which allows users to redirect incoming calls to any desired landline or mobile number in the world[30].

In May 2008 MyNetFone broadened the range of its data and business grade solutions, to include the Virtual PBX, a service which offered hosted IP PBX services for the SME market[31]. This new focus on the business market was further refined with the launch of a new SIP SIP (session Initiation Protocol ) service[32] and a new offering of a VoIP only phone system.[19].

In August 2011, four years after its first acquisition and following steady company growth, MyNetFone decided to delve back into the acquisition scene, and made the strategic business purchase, of ‘Symbio Networks’, Australia’s largest VoIP wholesale provider[1]. This marked a new turning point for MyNetFone, one which would see the company undertake many new acquisitions in the years to follow.

In May 2012 MyNetFone became certified by Australia’s NBN to provide services to consumers and businesses and launched itsNational Broadband Network (NBN) plans.[33] [34]. The NBN is an Australian government internet initiative which aims to provide the nation with greater coverage and faster streaming internet through the development of fibre Optic cabling and satellite services.

July 2012 brought with it a significant project for MyNetFone as the company was selected by the Tasmanian Government to provide its telephony services[35]. A national first at the time, as no other Australian government had yet to venture into VoIP services for their communications needs, so eyes were on the development, progress and operational efficiency of the new communication system. [36]

In November 2012, MyNetFone acquired inbound call specialist ‘CallStream’[21] followed by the purchase of Connexus, a well established and premium business Internet Service Provider (ISP)[6] [30]. In the same year MyNetFone entered an agreement to acquire the network and wholesale business of ‘GoTalk’, a Sydney based voice carrier[7] [19].

‘PennyTel’ and ‘iVoiSys’, two Sydney-based VoIP resellers, were the next brands to be acquired by MyNetFone in October 2013[9][37]. The following year, ‘iBoss’, a billing, operations, provisioning and central management system becomes another subsidiary addition to the MyNetFone Group (July 2014). [38][37][39]
