::::* You had indicated that instead of uploading to the Commons I had uploaded it "here", which I took to mean Wikipedia. When you said you had "transferred" it I thought you perhaps meant you had and moved it to the Commons but it looks to me like it's under en.wikipedia.org and doesn't appear under my contributions on commons.wikimedia.org. That's why I asked. As I said, I've only uploaded a few images for use in Wikipedia, so I'm not very familiar with the details and presumably I am confused about the locations. Perhaps you could explain for me what you meant by "transferred"?
::::* My point about annotations is that at the time I uploaded the image I had no idea that it would be used elsewhere. The same is presumably true of most images uploaded for use in Wikipedia. Yes, I can annotate it now in the hope that it will help prevent its deletion again in future but I could not have anticipated that it would be necessary. — [[User:Boxersoft|Boxersoft]] ([[User talk:Boxersoft|talk]]) 07:24, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of Jillian Haslam

You deleted the page Jillian Haslam from its sandbox on May 17 because of a copyright infringement. Would it be possible to have this page retrieved for a complete rewrite? — Nmwalsh (talk) 09:37, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

What about this - (Deletion log); 19:43 . . RHaworth (talk | contribs) deleted page User:Solvilo/sandbox/Jillian Haslam ‎(G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.telegraphindia.com/1130720/jsp/calcutta/story_17137169.jsp (foundational)) — Nmwalsh (talk) 15:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

  • On your third attempt you almost manage it! How long is it going to be before you learn to create wikilinks like this for example? Please reply. You have a reasonable looking new draft going so why do you need to see your copyvio version? Please reply. But I have emailed it anyway. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:44, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Page received. Thank you.Nmwalsh (talk) 18:06, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Thank you

Thank you so much for deleting Anatomy of a Sunset so quickly. I really appreciate it. When I made that collage, I didn't notice that one of the photos used in the collage was not of great quality. I remade the collage, and call it "Anatomy of a Sunset-2". Now I will sleep tonight...:-) Thanks again - Pocketthis (talk) 21:04, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello, you deleted Draft:Voxeljet AG back in May, can you tell me who the main author of it was? The user who recreated it, User:Davidwikipedia94, also signed up today, I'm just checking to make sure it's not a block evasion. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 18:28, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

deleted my dad's page

I wrote my dad's page about his life in summary and you deleted it. can you explain why and if not apologise and reinstate it? Grumpyness of your state inconsequential. Kalera/Herbert Nsanze. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.220.209.71 (talk) 20:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

special redirect

Hi - would you please restore the special redirect Bookends (album) (redirect)? As I said on the talk page when I contested the speedy deletion, it's there intentionally to track usage. Thanks. Dohn joe (talk) 15:32, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

That's the whole point. It's meant to track who starts out at the Bookend page but who actually wanted the Bookends (album) page, so we can help decide if Bookends should redirect to Bookend or be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for Bookends (album). Dohn joe (talk) 17:30, 9 June 2015 (UTC)

  • You are very niggardly with your explanations. If you had added a decent talk page when you created Bookends (album) (redirect), the deletion might not have happened.
@777sms: if you still think the redirect should be deleted please make a request via RfD. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:58, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the restore. You're probably right that these could use more explanation when they're created. Dohn joe (talk) 13:57, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Whaaat?

Can you please send me a page you deleted and send it to me — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.146.144.6 (talk) 07:04, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Regain access to deleted user page

Hi RHaworth. You have deleted my personal user page: User:Tlinnet I am working through basic ANOVA tests, and getting the software to work. Could you please send the information on page to me? It represents about 10 Hours of work, and I would appreciate to get these scripts back. I understand now, that wikipedia is far from ideal place to put such information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tlinnet (talkcontribs) 11:34, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

Template:Info box

I see you have protected the (deleted, red-linked) {{Info box}}. I wish to create is as #redirect Template:Infobox. Please will you either do so yourself, or unprotect it, so that I may? Cheers, Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:07, 10 June 2015 (UTC)

And where is the WP:CONSENSUS from either of you to do so? Please excuse me, but we have a responsibility in what another editor rightly said as "user facing space" to make things easier to search. Templates are not in user facing space, and the opposite applies. I take it to RfD. There is no need for, essentially programmers, in which I have dabbled for thirty five years, to offer opportunities for ambiguation. In a a nutshell, if you discern the cut of my gist, it is Occam's Razor. This redirect is not just needless but harmful. WP:Redirects are cheap, yes, but maintenance is expensive. You don't have to add to that load. They will diverge, believe me, they will diverge. WP:NOTFINISHED does not mean make a bad start and let someone else clear up the mess. Look at the mess at {{Infobox settlement}}, as if who in their right mind says "oh that is a beautiful settlement", "oh it's an ugly settlement", "you know, it's the biggest settlement in China". No ire in this asking

…but could you offer a quick word to explain the deletion of the User:Zefr page? I just wish to understand the process and system. Cheers. 209.152.223.3 (talk) 13:02, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Hidden variable

Thanks for deleting Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hidden variable theory. Nuff said. I cant do the newfangled "Thank", since the page is deleted: but anyway I think it better that it is acknowledged and permanent, which the new "thank" don't do. Cockup on my part, swiftly resolved, how Wikipedia should be. Si Trew (talk) 23:30, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Template:Info box

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Template:Info box. Since you had some involvement with the Template:Info box redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Si Trew (talk) 23:42, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

request copy of a deleted file

Hi, I'd just like to see the content of an old template that you deleted a few months ago. Could you please provide a copy to me of Template:Infobox Isle of Man TT course ? Thanks in advance, sincerely, doncram 09:39, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of image Shetland Heifer.jpg

You seem to have deleted file:Shetland heifer.jpg, apparently because it was believed to be a copyright violation. It is not: I am the creator of the image. I posted it to WikiMedia some years ago for inclusion in the Wikipedia page on Shetland Cattle (which I notice has also been removed). Can you please explain why the image was assumed to be a copyright violation? — Boxersoft (talk) 09:20, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

  • So why did you upload the image here instead of to the Commons? Please reply. The image was deleted because TheMagikCow (talk · contribs) (appropriate name!) thought it was a copyvio from here and I did not bother to check. I accept that the image uploaded looks like an high res original and the image at Shetland Cattle (SCBA) is a mere 256×341px in size. So: upload the image to the Commons. Add a note pointing out that a much lower res version exists on the SCBA website and explaining how it got there. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:17, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

I thought I had uploaded it to the Commons under an attrribution/sharealike license, as that's what I have done with the few other images I have added to Wikipedia articles. I can't be certain as it was several years ago and I can't see a way to check. I don't know if I still have the original image available, I'll see if I can dig it out. I could certainly add a note explaining how the image came to be on the SCBA site (I am the webmaster for that site). It has also been used in a number of other places on the web though, from cattle breeders' sites to news articles (all without attribution, I might add). Boxersoft (talk) 15:12, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

  • @Boxersoft: OK perhaps your photo archive is not as well organised as mine and it is 6½ years. So I have transferred it for you. Please add the annotation I suggested - this will also help confirm your authorship. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:57, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

No, my photo archive isn't particularly well organised. I would probably be able to find the original but it might have involved trawling through backups. Thanks for restoring it.

Just so I can avoid similar problems in future, perhaps you could clarify a few things for me:

  1. It appears that I uploaded this image to Wikipedia and not the Commons. Is that wrong, and if so [a] why is it possible and [b] should I move it over?
  2. It looks like I had indeed declared that I am the copyright holder and creator of the work, and yet it was deleted anyway. I could, as you suggest, annotate the upload to announce that it was subsequently used on another site. Am I supposed to update the annotation any time the image is used elsewhere? As I mentioned, it has already been used on various sites beyond my control so, with the best will in the world, I don't see how I can reliably achieve that.

Deletion of Трихопигментация

Could you take another look at your deletion of Трихопигментация? You marked it as an A3 deletion; when I looked at it, it appeared (even allowing for Google Translator's shortcomings) to be at least a half-way comprehensible article about trichopigmentation (or tricopigmentation). — Largo Plazo (talk) 19:20, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Template:Chembox Metabolites

Hallo, you deleted Template:Chembox Metabolites (G6), but it was used at Ethanol and Ethanol (data page). Christian75 (talk) 05:12, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
