For the first four years of its tenure i.e. 2009-2012, it consisted of both technical and cultural events. The 2011 edition of Pearl was held over 4 days, from 10th to 13th February that year, in the college campus. Sponsorship for the fest amounted to over {{INR}} 40 lakh, with the net prize money close to {{INR}} 15 lakh. The India rock band [[Thaikkudam Bridge]] made their foray into Hyderabad with their performance at Pearl 2016. Day 2 saw DJ [[Nucleya]] take over the entire campus and made them dance with his electrifying performance. The final day had the comedian [[Abish Mathew]] sending the crowd into bursts, [[Farhan Akhtar]] performed live and amused the crowd with the best proshow ever at BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad and celebrity anchor [[Bharat Jain]] with his energy cheered the audience and opened for Farhan Akhtar.

Pearl is the annual national cultural fest of BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus. Apart from pro-shows, Pearl also hosted celebrities promoting films. Pearl 2015 hosted Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam for the promotion of film Badlapur.[7] The winner of MasterChef India, Pankaj Bhadouria attended the food festival during Pearl 2016.[4] Telugu actors Nani and Vijay Deverakonda visited the campus during Pearl 2015 for the promotion of their film Yevade Subramanyam.
