Beani Bazar Cancer Hospital

There are over 1 million people living with cancer in Bangladesh, and this number is growing, with an estimated 200,000 new cancer patients each year. There is very little specialist cancer care. Outside of the capital city, there just isn't any specialist help, and only 15,000 patients receive proper medical treatment each year. That means that over 98% of cancer patients in Bangladesh aren't receiving the treatment they need.

With the right medical help, cancer doesn't have to be a death sentence. Those who can afford it travel to other countries to pay for their treatment and care. Those who can't are left to suffer and die.

The Beani Bazar Cancer Hospital is a charity based in the UK that aims to create awareness and provide medical treatment for disadvantaged cancer patients in Bangladesh. In particular, we[who?] aim to: • Erect and maintain a fully resourced hospital in the greater area of Beani Bazar, Sylhet, Bangladesh to prevent, diagnose and treat many forms of cancer • Raise public awareness of a country without adequate treatment for a growing problem • And provide information relating to healthcare and cancer, promoting good health and informed lifestyles. We[who?] intend to serve not only Sylhet and North East Bangladesh, but also Assam and North East India.

The Beani Bazar Cancer Hospital is a charity registered and regulated by the Charity Commission in England and Wales (Registration Number 11 33 051). It is also registered as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee at Companies House in England and Wales (No. 688 20 20).
