Talk to me, Andy Mabbett

  • If you post a message on this page, I'll reply on this page to avoid fragmenting the discussion.
  • If I've left you a message on your talk page, I will be watching it, so please reply there rather than here (but do feel free to drop a copy of {{Talkback}} here).
  • If appropriate, I will move discussion from here to the relevant article's talk page, so that anyone interested can join in.
  • If you want to start a new discussion thread, please start it at the bottom of the page. Better still, use the "new section" tab next to the "edit this page" tab, or the link at the foot of this section, either of which will do that automatically.
  • Please do not make links from within section headings.
  • Inaccessible HTML (coloured text, "small" tags, etc.) will be removed from this page on sight. Broken heading or list structures will be fixed.
  • Please sign and date your entries by inserting four tildes (~~~~) at the end.
  • Start a new discussion.

Many thanks for your recent edits. A relatively painless progression to FA this time, if only because the sources are limited Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:10, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jimfbleak: And thank you for the great job you did on it. It would be good to get a high-res copy of the painting. We have several versions, BTW. See also edit summary here. Did you see [1]? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:40, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That's brilliant, what timing! I'll add that Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:06, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for article work in November! Look today at BB music, a little crusade of mine ;) - his birthday on St Cecilia's day, patron saint of music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:44, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:14, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's MOS that we don't keep repeating links, but I'm not bothered enough to make an issue of it. I'm astonished that Rothschild misspelt his own surname, but if you are sure of that, so be it, cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:16, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally, do we have a ref for the signatories? I was going to check the spelling but I'm not sure of the source Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:20, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jimfbleak MoS was changed a while back to allow moderate repeating of links (MOS:REPEATLINK); typo was mine (now fixed); citation is in the article ("Observers of Birds". The Times. 1 July 1933.) Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:38, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for commenting at the recent AfD for the above list. There is now an ongoing discussion around the best way to split the list, if any, if you wish to comment further. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:42, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible Age on Template:Infobox person/Wikidata appears to be fixed

I wanted to give you a heads up that the implausible age issue you cited on Template talk:Infobox person/Wikidata#Implausible age appears to be fixed. You said the issue appeared on Colin Campbell Garbett, and I'll leave it up to you if that means that it's ready to use the Wikidata infobox template. -Thunderforge (talk) 02:23, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Thunderforge: Thank you. We've since found full dates for Garbett, but I will look out for other examples. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:20, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
