This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on June 22, 2021.
Frass valley
- Frass valley → Sideways (disambiguation) (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Originally created in 2006 as a stub about a fictional location in the film Sideways, it got turned into a redirect the following year. There doesn't appear to be any content about it on Wikipedia. – Uanfala (talk) 21:18, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
مسیحا
Unnecessary, Non-English redirect. PepperBeast (talk) 20:12, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Keep and mention. The article is about an Arabic word so that word in Arabic is obviously an appropriate WP:RFOREIGN redirect. I note the target is prodded, if it is deleted then this redirect will be subject to WP:CSD#G8 speedy deletion, but if it is kept then it is a good redirect. مسیح
Unnecessary, Non-English redirect. PepperBeast (talk) 20:12, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Retarget to Masih (surname) where it is mentioned in the lead (or add it to Masih and retarget there). Per WP:RFOREIGN this is a useful redirect. Thryduulf (talk) 22:46, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Heuristic search
User:Sbalfour indicates that this redirect is not appropriate in edit summaries (it is not appropriate to redirect to that page. There is no appropriate page, no article, not even an appropriate article#section. The encyclopedia has a hole. DO NOT RESTORE!, it can't go there) then, changed the target to hunting from Heuristic without explaning the rationale. I'm unclear how this is a better topic and have noted that the user's talk page, but I think a discussion for consensus is warranted. Heuristic (computer science) may be a better target, as it states that A heuristic function, also simply called a heuristic, is a function that ranks alternatives in search algorithms. If that was the intended purpose of this redirect, perhaps it should be retitled to Heuristc (search). —Ost (talk) 19:56, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: Currently the most appropriate redirect target appears to be the section Heuristic (computer science) § Search, but on the other hand I wouldn't be surprised if Heuristic (computer science) needs a major reorganization, so there may be some validity to Sbalfour's complaint that there is currently no appropriate redirect target, but I bet that could be fixed with some reorganization and rewriting of Heuristic (computer science). A search of the encyclopedia shows that there are mentions of "heuristic search" in very many articles, so this is very much an underused (i.e. underlinked) redirect, so no retitling is needed (contra Ost316's final suggestion) but rather more linking to the current redirect. As an aside, see also the redirects HEURISTIC SEARCH (!?) and Pure heuristic search and the sections State space search § Heuristic search and Bidirectional search § Approaches for bidirectional heuristic search. Biogeographist (talk) 20:33, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm going to chime in because I'm used to being a target as well as a shot. I searched the encyclopedia for a redirect, and concluded that the best result is to delete the page. We belch at deleting anything, and require an admin to delete an irrelevant page (blech!). Heuristic search is a broad and vague topic, and I could write that article (it's been my field for 27 years), but I'm not interested. It gets very technical very quick. The simple (wictionary-type) definition is that it's a rule of thumb that generally yields a relatively usable result within limited time and resource constraints. It's not quite the same as a mathematical approximation; a usable result can be quite exact - it's parameterized (or constrained) and within the parameters, it is exact. It occurs most often in a computer software context, subtext computer game trees, most references are with respect to common games like chess, checkers othello, go, connect-4. Academy 360 Cougars

- Academy 360 Cougar → Athletic nickname#Animal (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ] Added. -- Tavix (talk) 19:43, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Bergen Bulldogs → Athletic nickname#Animal (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- Ridgewood Maroons → Athletic nickname#Abstract concept (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Not mentioned at the topic; these names are all pretty clearly athletic nicknames, but in the absence of any specific coverage at the target I don't think we need the redirects. In the case of Ridgewood Maroons, it's not even clear that it's pointing to an accurate section, as the title could refer to Maroons. signed, Rosguill talk 15:34, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Do not delete. We do not want a repitition of the iPhone 9 deletion. Remember, that I had to submit the deletion review at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2020 August 3. Redirecting to a plausible search term is way better than deleting. I am pinging Hobit and S Marshall, so that they come up with helpful suggestions just like they decided to start the article iPhone naming. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neel.arunabh (talk • contribs) 16:23, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- The current targets are way too broad for the subjects. I'm not sure why they were redirected there, and a comment from the redirects' author about a completely unrelated matter is not helpful. That being said:
- Delete Academy 360 Cougars and Academy 360 Cougar (which I am adding). It looks like this is referring to Spectrum360, where it mentions their nickname is the Cougars. However, the "Academy 360" name is not attested at the target (and from the website, "Academy360" looks to be a more specific program of "Spectrum360", so that would need to be ironed out before I can support a retarget.
- Delete Bergen Bulldogs as too vague. It looks like this is supposed to refer to Bergen Community College, but I also found trivial mentions of other teams at BLNO (Norwegian basketball league) and Bergen Storm (former name of a Norwegian American football team).
- Retarget Ridgewood Maroons to Ridgewood High School (New Jersey). -- Tavix (talk) 19:34, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- These three suggestions all seem good to me. signed, Rosguill talk 19:39, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- I would still oppose the deletion of Bergen Bulldogs. Neel.arunabh (talk) 20:41, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

PornTube
Not mentioned at the target; while PornTube is presumably a site that hosts a lot of amateur pornography, unless it's discussed at the target I think this redirect should be deleted. signed, Rosguill talk 15:55, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Retarget to internet pornography. I don't recall if PornTube is or was an actual website, but it's close enough to the name of several extant ones that we should provide some target for this term. Ivanvector's squirrel (trees/nuts) 19:56, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

- Delete PornTube is a live website but it is not mentioned anywhere in article-space that I can find, and most mentions in project space are using it as a generic representative of the type of site (e.g. "PornTube-type sites") rather then referencing it specifically. Crandall High School
- Crandall High School → Crandall, Texas (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
The High School is not mentioned at the target, and given that there are other places called Crandall (see Crandall (disambiguation)#Places) this redirect is ambiguous and likely to cause confusion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:44, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Keep. The school, with others, was mentioned in the target until March 2017, when a user removed them without explanation. I have added them back. - Jay (Talk) 18:26, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Search results show a few articles that mention Crandall High School, and they all appear to refer to this school. This originally was a redirect to Crandall Independent School District, which was WP:BLARed last year. If the school district article isn't reinstated, the current target is probably our best option. - Eureka Lott 20:57, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

- Keep per Jay. Thryduulf (talk) 13:06, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Keep per Jay. Should there be multiples, then make sure the school is mentioned at the target articles. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:03, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Molecular ion
- Molecular ion → Polyatomic ion (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This term is rarely used as a synonym for the current target (though it is correct) but instead is typically used in the context of mass spectral interpretation, where it was originally targeted until it was boldly retargeted to its current target. I think mass spectral interpretation is the primary topic here and should be retargeted there with hatnotes on both pages. Ideally, the term would be disambiguated at Molecular ion (disambiguation) as well. Mdewman6 (talk) 01:59, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Also, if retargeted, I'd be happy to go through all the incoming links and adjust as necessary. Mdewman6 (talk) 02:04, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Canon of Colorado
- Canon of Colorado → Grand Canyon (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Ambiguous term that could apply to other canyons along the course of the Colorado River, other canyons in the state of Colorado, or the Colorado Canyon. This could target a disambiguation page at Colorado canyon, but there was not consensus for the need of a disambiguation page in a recent related RfD. If not disambiguated, deletion seems called for to avoid confusion and rely upon search results. Mdewman6 (talk) 01:29, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Delete as an unlikely typo (canon instead of canyon). There is Cañon City, Colorado, but it doesn't appear to be known by this name. - Eureka Lott 03:51, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Well, as you note cañon is an alternative spelling for canyon, so I don't think that by itself is cause for deletion. In other words, this could be a {{R to diacritic}} for Cañon of Colorado if such a redirect had merit, but I argue above it does not. Mdewman6 (talk) 07:34, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think we can consider this a plausible {{r from alternative language}}, because it mixes Spanish and English in the name—thus my !vote. - Eureka Lott 13:44, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

- Weak retarget to Category:Canyons and gorges of Colorado I do see an old 1863 media title where they refer to canyons as canons. https://www.amazon.com/Canons-Colorado-W-H-JACKSON/dp/B004XTPUOK AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 15:09, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Are there any other sources that use cannons over canyons I’m asking because I believe that if we only have an almost 150 source that misspelled the term it’s not enough to demonstrate that’s it a plausible misspelling?--70.24.249.16 (talk) 23:21, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
Great Colorado Canyon
- Great Colorado Canyon → Grand Canyon (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This does not appear to be an accepted alternative name for the target and is not mentioned in the article. While top google results are for the Grand Canyon, the term is ambiguous and could be confused with Colorado Canyon which was just addressed in a recent RfD. I suggest deletion unless citations can be added to the target to support its use as an alternative name. Mdewman6 (talk) 01:24, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Keep. The uses I see in DuckDuckGo are from non-native speakers of English. "Great Colorado Canyon" is a straightforward translation (if not idiomatic) of Gran Cañón del Colorado. Perhaps it could be useful as a redirection for links made by non-natives. --Error (talk) 08:13, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Keep per Error. It gets some use (110 hits last year) and is unambiguous so deletion will bring no benefits but might make it harder for people to find what they are looking for. Thryduulf (talk) 13:09, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Keep per Error. Given the translation from Spanish, I'd only be concerned if this were used to refer to something else in English. "Great Colorado Canyon" -Wikipedia doesn't retrieve much, but it's almost all Grand Canyon. Finding a scholarly citation in an English-language university publication (link) sealed it for me. --BDD (talk) 21:28, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
IPhone (13th generation)
- IPhone (13th generation) → List of iOS and iPadOS devices#iPhone (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
- Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2020 October 13 § iPhone (Xth generation) – no consensus, retarget
Not discussed in target, WP:NOTCRYSTALBALL. Naming it the thirteenth generation may be skipped because of Triskaidekaphobia, but it is not for us to predict. It is also completely possible that there is no iPhone released this year because of the global shortages. Regardless, this redirect is pointed at an article that cannot discuss this because we are not a crystal ball. Aasim (talk) 01:15, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
- Delete, not plausible as a search term nor can this be a disambiguator for a single phone. It's not WP:CRYSTAL because the 13th generation has been released, but it includes the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the iPhone SE 2. -- Tavix (talk) 13:23, 22 June 2021 (UTC)
