The Lunar New Year Cup 2007 was a football tournament held in Hong Kong on the first and fourth day of the Chinese New Year of the Boar (February 18 and February 21, 2007).
Format
The two semi-finals for the four participating teams were held on the first day of the Chinese New Year of Boar (February 18, 2007). The winning teams enter the final and the losing teams play the third-place playoff (Both matches on the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, i.e. 21 February, 2007.) Draw in the semi-finals and third-place playoff would be settled by penalty shootout directly, that means no extra time would be played. For the final, a thirty-minute extra time would be played after a draw. A further draw would lead to the penalty shootout.

Trivia
- The only two goalscoers of Australia Olympic Team, Nathan Burns and Bruce Djite are both from Adelaide United. Together with Robert Cornthwaite, who scored an own goal in the first match against China Olympic Team, all three Adelaide United players in the squad "scored" in the competition.
- The host Hong Kong team has not been able to win in the second day of the competition for 15 consecutive years (except in 2005 when there was only an one-match against Brazil).
- The host Hong Kong team finishes at the last place for 5 consecutive years.
