Keep the first, as its "internment camps" sub-cat contains non-century periods. Rename and repurpose the second per nom, but to plural "crimes" i.e. Category:Crimes in Australia by century; I have nominated the siblings for other countries at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2022 June 8#Category:Crimes by country and century. Comment -- The only 20th century human rights content is internment camps. Whether these were or were not a human rights abuses is a POV issue. The internment of enemy aliens in wartime is a matter of national self-defence. Its implementation may be so heavy handed as to be an abuse, but internment is not an abuse per se. Nominator's rationale: rename and merge, "by period" is the standard format of these types of categories (e.g. Category:Arts by period, Category:Literature by period, Category:Architecture by period) and there is no reason to have two of these categories. 1842 is not a date, it is a year, which is a period. All other year categories are part of a "by period" tree, e.g. Category:Arts by year is part of Category:Arts by period, Category:Literature by period is part of Category:Literature by period. Nominator's rationale: The current name gives the mistaken impression that is it meant to include missions started by French-Canadian and French-American priests after the fall of New France. The note on the category page makes it clear this category is for missions in New France only. Merge to Category:Bengali-language newspapers, currently the grandparent. The parent has subcats for Pakistan 1 item; UK 2; US 1. All these should be merged there, leaving "by country" to cover only India (largely West Bengal) and Bangladesh. The newspaper should have Category:Non-English-language newspapers published in the United States as a category and the two UK papers a similar one. Comment: These renamings may well be correct and helpful, but note that there is a parent Category:Animated series which has a main article Animated series and also encompasses sub-cats for other media namely Animated web series, Animated film series and Anime series. It already has cross-media subcats for Pink Panther and Transformers, and probably more could be added.
