Triple Gate

[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Galobtter (pingó mió) 13:12, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Triple Gate is too confusing for specific gate Arthistorian1977 (talk) 19:50, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is the term used on Southern Wall where the linking is coming from. If you think that may be confusing, you should look into the references and discuss it on that page. Tomdo08 (talk) 19:57, 14 January 2018
PS: ... also defined as such on the target side of the links: Huldah Gates Tomdo08 (talk) 20:05, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Good catch, made notes to both talk pages about this. Tomdo08 (talk) 02:58, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep A couple of links where the terms ('Double Gate' and 'Triple Gate') are used as known identity:

Slaughterhouse rules

[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Slaughterhouse Rulez. (non-admin closure) feminist (talk) 16:09, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion suggested. This is a recent (triple?) redirect - see Slaughter House Rules and Slaughter house rules - and makes no sense whatsoever. Nothing within the target article suggests any reason for the redirect. Googling "Slaughterhouse rules" and "Slaughter House Rules" offers no clues. A new article has now been created, a film (presently a preview) named Slaughterhouse Rulez which is how I arrived at the redirect, dropping down in the 'search' field. Confusing and unnecessary for these redirects to exist, IMO. -Semperito (talk) 19:20, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Slaughterhouse Rulez. @Semperito: If we're going to discuss one, we should probably discuss all three. Would you object to me adding the other two redirects to this RfD? — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 20:39, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That's good, thank you, PinkAmpersand. I am inexperienced in this so it is a learning process for me.-Semperito (talk) 20:44, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I've added them. My !vote for them is the same as for the first one: retarget. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 20:50, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A look at their contributions for 13 January alone shows 26 new redirects, with many nonsense minor variations on song lyric-lines, spelling, capitalization and punctuation.--Semperito (talk) 16:05, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • This was created as a rather spammy article about a person who, judging from the comments on the talk page, might be just past the notability threshold, so I'm not sure if RfD is the best place to make a decision on that. The most "proper" course of action seems to be restoring the article, then trimming the puffery and taking it to AfD. Anyone's got the time for that? A move to the draft namespace (without leaving a redirect) would be an easier alternative. – Uanfala (talk) 21:35, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Draftify per Uanfala. Anyone who wants to work on it can work on in draft space there, and if that doesn't happen in a reasonable amount of time it gets deleted as stale without further drama. More likely to produce a useful outcome than restoring in mainspace and sending to AFD – which will likely result in either a bunch of people voting for WP:TNT regardless of the merits, or not wanting to deal with it at all (a la Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Characters of Final Fantasy V). 59.149.124.29 (talk) 06:34, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was soft redirect to September. (non-admin closure) Galobtter (pingó mió) 11:31, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect from user page to unconnected Article Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 09:06, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Soften. Fryedk specifically wants their user page to redirect to September, and since users have wide latitude to decide what should be on their userpage, I see no reason to deny them that ability. However, a hard redirect is somewhat problematic, because anyone else wanting to view their userpage would not want to automatically be taken to September. Converting it to a soft redirect solves that problem while allowing Fryedk to use their userpage how they wish. -- Tavix (talk) 16:48, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Procedural question. Are we sure that this belongs here, rather than at MfD? Does this forum have the "constitutional" power to order someone to change their userpage? — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 20:44, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect per Tavix. This is traditionally the outcome on RfD for redirects from the "User:" namespace to the "(article)" namespace. Steel1943 (talk) 03:11, 16 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect per Tavix. As for the "constitutional" question, I wouldn't object if I saw this at MFD, but RfD is the "proper" place to discuss redirects regardless of namespace, with redirects in the template and project namespaces being particularly common. – Uanfala (talk) 22:14, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
