Quarry

So I'm a bit out of practice.... This quarry query used to work, but keeps throwing errors now. What am I doing wrong? Please helppppp! -- Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 05:35, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Zackmann08: I'm more of a quarry consumer than a quarry writing expert. I would suggest asking MZMcBride and/or reading this thread and/or asking at www.mediawiki.org? I personally use Wikipedia:Database reports/Unused templates (filtered) when looking for unused templates. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:32, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Z – You'll want to take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Templates/Unused Templates Task Force and its talk page. We did a ton of work while you were gone. – Jonesey95 (talk) 15:19, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. This is an example commit that fixes the tl_title issue. You can also review Wikipedia:Database reports/Unused templates (filtered)/Configuration or Wikipedia:Database reports/Unused templates/Configuration. --MZMcBride (talk) 18:14, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Saint Petersburg Railway Division color has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. Gonnym (talk) 13:44, 23 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Plastikspork. Could you please elaborate on your reasoning for closing this discussion as delete rather than redirect to Template:GP3 Series Drivers' Champions? Thanks. A7V2 (talk) 22:58, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A7V2, you are free to create a redirect right now if you want to create one. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:25, 27 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

removing WiR creation tags?

Hey, Plastikspork! Is there a reason we're removing these? Or replacing...confused lol. :D Valereee (talk) 19:58, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Valereee, People are adding |class= and |importance= to these when the project doesn't support these. See Category:Pages using WIR with unknown parameters. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 00:54, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks! Couldn't we have a bot do that? Valereee (talk) 12:15, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

fakaua

Hi. I hope you are doing well. Regarding this edit, I was editing using AWB. AWB showed me:
{{DEFAULTSORT:Taumoepeau, {{fakaua}}Alisi Afeaki}}{{DEFAULTSORT:Taumoepeau, {{fakau'a}}Alisi Afeaki}}
I thought AWB knows the best, trusted it, and saved the edit. I apologise for the similar multiple inaccurate edits. See you around :-) —usernamekiran (talk) 23:21, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SporkBot

Hi Plastikspork, thanks for creating SporkBot, it noticed a column error that I had not seen. I am impressed so thanks for your good work. Pyeongchang (talk) 10:53, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed that you closed this RfD, but did not remove incoming links from other templates. This is best practice for most deletions. I have removed the links in this case.[1]

Forgive me if you normally do this part of the task but overlooked it on this occasion. Otherwise, I hope this is a useful pointer. Best wishes – Fayenatic London 17:10, 2 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do normally do this, but unfortunately {{tfd links}} only provides links to transclusions, so it requires several extra clicks to check. The automated TfD closer also doesn't warn you if there are a lot of links. But, it would be difficult to automate the process due to links in various "del sort" templates. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:00, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks! as it happens I've also just found a category redirect left from your deleting Category:Swedish Hockey League roster templates under G8. Also sorted. – Fayenatic London 17:09, 3 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Re Template:Taxonomy/Acanthothecis

Hi Plastikspork,

The template details of the lichen/fungi are out-of-date ! I was attempting to change them to the new stuff. Maybe heavy-handed ! Still have not got my template editing skills refined. I add with this note the ref that I and a lot of other editors are using.

Re: reverting articles due to name change

Hi Plastikspork, I'm curious to learn more about why articles are reverted due to name changes. Does Wikipedia have a police on "name" vs "full name"? In the case of "John Doe Smith" should that be the name or full name? Thank you! PseudoNova (talk) 18:33, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

PseudoNova, I believe you are asking about Mahassen Fattouh? That was my fault. I didn't see the full name in the first sentence. Sorry about that. As far as I know, there is no official policy on which name should be at the top of the infobox, but typically it's the name by which the subject is commonly known, which is typically the same as the article name. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 14:38, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha thank you! PseudoNova (talk) 18:33, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
