Kulachi or Kolachi (Sindhi: ڪولاچي) is a Baloch and Sindhi[1] tribe that got its name from the Kolach or Kolanch area of Makran. [2]

Although in Sindh, the city of Karachi may have derived its name from the Kulachi tribe.[3][need quotation to verify]

It has also been observed that Sindhi is a link language in Balochistan. From a detailed study of the area it is noticed that from the village Sui upto Las Bela (former state area), the area is 100 miles wide and five hundred miles long. The whole area is inhabited by not only the Brahuis, Balochis and Pathans but thousands of Sindhi races such as Abra, Buhara, Surra, Palaia, Babura, Panhyara, Pahnwara, Bhangara, Tuniya, Chachara, Dugara, Ruda, Sameja, Soomara, Siyacha, Kubhara, Korai, Kolachi, Khokhara, Machi, Nawra, Naicha and Harha settled there for the last many centuries. All these races speak Sindhi as their mother tongue.
