Bane
Hi,
I understand that we cannot put every single item as a power of the characters; but according to who we can tell is relevant or not? Maybe for an animation fan the 'Genius-level intellect' is not relevant or is false, but for a comic book fan is very relevant.
I am a comic books reader and, believe me, Bane has a 'Genius-level intellect' and is very relevant for the comic books; read Batman: Knightfall and you will be agree with me...

Superman
Hi, Doc. I'm just hoping I can persuade you that three stacked images is — from an objective, standard graphic-design perspective — not good design. Staggering images is standard practice. What do you say? --Tenebrae (talk) 15:43, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Tenebrae: I completely agree with you. I actually prefer using the left side for images in these situations, as staggering images to the right is quite unaesthetic. I very recently put the image to the left but noticed BaronBifford moved it back to the right. I assumed I was alone in wanting to put the image to the left. Glad we're in agreement. DrRNC (talk) 17:08, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- Ah. I apologize ... what with all the back and forth, I thought you had moved it to the right. All good, then. Let's keep an eye on the alignment. --Tenebrae (talk) 17:18, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- Things just got ugly with BaronBifford. Please see this edit and my followup. It's incomprehensible to me why he would snap that way, and I've seen these kinds of exchanges escalate without responsible third party. Hoping you can be that.--Tenebrae (talk) 22:01, 15 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Tenebrae: I just saw your message; I've been very busy lately. He's exhibiting a short temper, which we've seen before. Even with his cooperation in the Superman article, it's evident that he's quick to violate Wikipedia rules and even those of common courtesy. You've been receptive to his ideas, but he still is prone to disregarding the opinions of others and the overall consensus on any given topic. I think you're bound to run into problems working with him, but if something comes up where consensus is needed, feel free to let me know. I have many things going on right now so I apologize if I cannot respond in a timely many. DrRNC (talk) 20:46, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Ref for every sentence
I reference every sentence. However when multiple sentence in a row are supported by the same ref I hide all but the last one. Are you asking here [1] for them all to be visible? I know other editors complain when they are all visible. Best Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 09:28, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
@Doc James: Thanks for getting back to me. The sentence about bronchiectasis causing digital clubbing was a stand alone sentence, and it did not look as though the reference at the end of the lead paragraph was in regards to that sentence also. I went ahead and combined the sentences to avoid any confusion. DrRC (talk) 21:14, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

There is a dispute at Talk:Spider-Man and the X-Men over whether a redlink editor's edits violate WikiProject Comics guidelines as fancruft and issue-by-issue synopses. Bob Kane
Hi, Doc. It's always good to see your signature on an edit; you've a fellow veteran and I've always appreciated all your good and hard work. I did want to come by and let you know I re-added Detective Comics #27 to Bob Kane since there was no explanation for its deletion, and more importantly, because no consensus had been reached for it — as had been, for example, with File:Civilians bodies in Rada'a.jpg right below it. I'm wondering if it might not be good to let the discussion continue, as it's only been two days and I, for one, hadn't been aware of it. Thank you for understanding. --Tenebrae (talk) 23:12, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Gotham City.
Hi, you've reinserted an edit at the Joker article by stating "This should certainly be in the lead" without addressing any of the issues raised when it was removed. I'm sure you have good reasons for ignoring those concerns so please relate them to me here. Thanks. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 18:01, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
Hi, Darkwarriorblake. I'm glad you reached out to me. I believe the character's relation to Gotham City is a vital part of his portrayal in comic books. We can always make the argument that any given character leaves their main city and goes elsewhere for whatever reason. It's DC Comics after all; it's not uncommon for earthly characters to even go to outer space for a given storyline. If we buy into that argument, we can negate Batman's relation to Gotham, Superman's relation to Metropolis, and in the same vein as the Joker - Lex Luthor's relation to Metropolis. There's even a show called Gotham reminding us how integral the city is to Batman's main enemies. The Joker, along with Penguin and Two-Face, are depicted as being Gotham City criminals with ties to the Gotham criminal underworld. In mass media, the character has always been depicted as being a Gotham City criminal. I actually found it shocking that the city isn't mentioned anywhere in the lead. I hope you'll see my point in this regard, and it's always a pleasure working with you. DrRC (talk) 18:35, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
Although, Darkwarriorblake, I must say that I believe using the phrase "Gotham City criminal mastermind" may be better. It takes away any potential notion that he is always in Gotham, but perhaps it does not read as well. DrRC (talk) 18:39, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
- I get what you are saying, but I don't think of the Joker as a Gotham City criminal. Someone like the Penguin will operate their and is defined by it much like Luthor because of his ties to LexCorp, and Batman and Superman are defined by their cities because that is where they are based and it is a part of their character, whereas the Joker doesn't care about Gotham, he just cares about Batman, transplant him to a different city and it doesn't alter his character as long as Batman is there, transplant Batman to Metropolis and it changes him. But my main issue was the placement of the wording, it reads weird and defines him by a relation to Gotham City which I don't think is that big a deal compared to his relationship to Batman. If anything he is more identified by Arkham Asylum not Gotham City, the Asylum is for all intents and purposes, his home, his base, and a major trait of his character since the 70s. I am going to re-read the lead and look for somewhere it can be introduced more naturally if you still think it should be there.Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 18:45, 10 April 2017 (UTC)
- There's a line in the third paragraph that reads, "Although the Joker sometimes works with other supervillains such as the Penguin and Two-Face, and groups like..." I think Gotham City fits well there, in which the line can read, ""Although the Joker sometimes works with other Gotham City supervillains such as..." What do you think, Darkwarriorblake? DrRC (talk) 18:51, 10 April 2017 (UTC)

The file File:Aquaman Vol 8 16 Variant.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This article has a *lot* of non-free media. This is not adding anything.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ―Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 09:00, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
Selina Kyle as a crime boss
I've added caption information and reversed your deletion of the cover image from Catwoman Inheritance. Your comment on the deletion was "no rationale for this being here." Pretty terse (I'd say inadequate) for a unilateral deletion, and somewhat inaccurate since there was text in the body describing the unusual out-of-costume narrative arc that is illustrated by the image. Nevertheless I also augmented the image caption to clarify the relationship between image and text, to address your concerns. If you continue to feel additional information or clarity are needed, please explain here rather than starting a chain of reversions. The image was added with considered intention, so I'd appreciate corresponding courtesy in your editorial approach. --GDswamp (talk) 19:52, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Shazam Captain Marvel.png
Thanks for uploading File:Shazam Captain Marvel.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 01:19, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
