Why isn't her article titled that instead of Eva Marcille? I didn't even know her middle name until now, and I'm certain that her common name is Eva Pigford. A little after seeing your user name pop up in the edit history of an article that I have on my watchlist, I just came across your quote of the day, which is from her, and saw that you had it titled Eva Marcille. I was a little confused to see that it was Eva Pigford, since I've never heard her called by the name Eva Marcille. I was thinking she'd gotten married or something, and someone probably changed the name of her article...until I clicked on it and saw that Marcille is her middle name. What's up with her article being titled that? Flyer22 (talk) 07:13, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, thanks for clearing that up. Flyer22 (talk) 07:22, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And no matter the last name she's using, she should be referred to by that last name throughout the article, of course, instead of by her first name. I'll format her article in that way later. Flyer22 (talk) 07:25, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chantal Jones (ANTM cycle 9)

Thank you for finding a source for her last name! People have been adding and removing it (and other false last names) for ages, so it's really nice to finally have a source to prove which is correct. Eatcacti (talk) 09:47, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

On November 25 2007, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mel Rose, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Mel Rose), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Question about AntiSpamBot

You reverted AntiSpamBot's edit to Mel Rose. I'm wondering why that would happen. From your history, you look like a good editor, so seeing that just made me wonder if there are any kinks in AntiSpamBot. Thanks. Wryspy (talk) 01:44, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need your help with persistent vandal

I went to another administrator about this, but they didn't respond quick enough, so I told them I'd take this to someone else. Well, that brings me to you, Mike, as the first to pop up in my head. A vandal, as seen in this link, keeps vandalizing the Janice Dickinson article. Doesn't seem likely to stop. Even threatened to have me blocked. And has the nerve to call me a vandal. Flyer22 (talk) 21:32, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help, of course. I'm going to add two valid citations to the lead of her article that declare her as a supermodel, but I'm sure that won't even satisfy this vandal. Either way, I'm not worried about this vandal's satisfication. Flyer22 (talk) 22:25, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Damsel in distress #2 for the night

Hey Mike ~ I followed Flyer22 to you because she knows her stuff. Could you please protect the Belle Black page from moves. People keep moving the page from her common name to her "married" name that she's had for 2 days. Belle Brady is not her common name and there is already confusion because her birth name was Brady. Could you please protect it from moves? Please!!!! CelticGreen (talk) 01:52, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I've asked Flyer22 to help me on this. She knows the rule and where to find it. Thanks for protecting it for me/us. CelticGreen (talk) 02:36, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've noticed you're a frequent contributor to the Days article. I nominated it for Good Article status, and it is currently on hold. I'm not much of a soap expert (I nominated the article because I thought it looked very well done), so could you go and take a look at the talk page and see what has to be done? Regards. Note about your Commons talk page

I happened across commons:User talk:TheCustomOfLife and saw your note directing people here. Commons has a very nifty feature that will send you an email whenever anyone edits your talk page. Preferences -> Email (on the first tab), click on "E-mail me when my user talk page is changed". Very handy feature, one that I wish more wikis had... Mike, I see that you started the Paul B. Davis page and I also see that you have had nothing to do with it in a long time. I wanted to let you know that I just went through it and wikified it as well as corrected the dates. I don't know how anyone got the dates as wrong as they were, but I have fixed all of that stuff now. The article is a stub and could use a great deal more work, but I thought I would give you a chance to go look at it and tell me what you think or what you think needs to be done. Elonka's RFA

Your comments towards Matt; I literally laughed to myself in the coffeeshop I"m studying in right now and says "that's hot." SWATJester Son of the Defender 15:46, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What do you think of this...[1][2] (I mean, more so the Jesse talk)?

My main thought about it is that Darnell Williams had better be coming back as Jacob, if it's a long-term contract that he's signed. If it's brief, I'm okay with it being Jesse, if he's a ghost/angel again, but not as a "back from the dead" Jesse. The rest of my feelings on this matter were stated on my talk page. Flyer22 (talk) 01:47, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because it's the holiday and there are plenty of off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a great holiday season, --Elonka 17:35, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Kateandalliecover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Kateandalliecover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:15, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedians by location

Just a comment for clarification.

There were several suggestions on what the final form should be. As this is a "no consensus" close (of a discussion that ran quite longer than the normal 5 days), there should be no problem immediately renominating based on information discovered from this discussion - rather than waiting the 3 months you suggested in your closure. The "3 months" suggestion is typically used for discussions which become incindiarily heated, which I don't believe was the case for this discussion.

Anyway, all that said, thank you for closing. (And there are a few others on that page that could use closing as well : ) - jc37 11:02, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggested three months so there will be less drama and more opportunities for consensus building. Relisting it doesn't give anyone enough time to rethink a new strategy and just rehashes a lot of yelling, which is counterproductive. Mike H. Celebrating three years of being hotter than Paris 11:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(First, my apologies for this late response. I've been away from Wikipedia for a bit.)
In looking over the discussion, I didn't and don't see the "yelling" (or drama) that you refer to. But anyway, your latter reason is exactly why I'm going to "relist", since it's not exactly relisting, but rather listing, based on what did seem have consensus. Often closing as "no consensus" and following up with a new nomination, developed from what we've learned in a previous nomination, can be a good thing, especially since the intended goal from the outset was to find a consensus.
Hope you're having a good day : ) - jc37 09:36, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sptimesagnes1972.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sptimesagnes1972.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:41, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Germany Invitation

I have reverted your addition of Annie's date of birth to her article. This is in accordance with WP:BLP and the subject's own wishes. She has made it plain to me that she is unwilling to have this information made public, and we should respect those wishes. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 13:32, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I see what's happened here, and wasn't accusing you of a bad-faith edit. Normally people put the DOB in the infobox, which used to have a hidden note explaining this, however the infobox has recently been changes and this note has gone. Since you added the DOB inline, there would be no way you could have known this since there is no not within the article text itself. I will make sure that this is clear. My apologies if I seemed to misunderstand your motive. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 13:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Euclid St. Paul's Neighborhood in st pete-- seeking consensus

Hi, Mike. Is this sufficiently notable for an article of its own? Do we have articles on sections of St. Pete?? Lived in Pinellas for 30+ years and never heard of it. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 23:29, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do I do a "hold on" for the list on Days?

I'd like the chance to source the removed items rather then them just being swept away. Would you mind if I returned it and tried. I know for fact some are correct, I would just need to get verification. I ask because in the GA nomination/review, it doesn't say to remove the list. IrishLass (talk) 20:46, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reply - no problem but I thought we weren't supposed to copy things into our user space. I will, I just was confused. I looked again at the GA and it says to do one comprehensive paragraph. That shouldn't be too hard. It's finding episode numbers and reference that will take time. Thanks for the help.IrishLass (talk) 20:51, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
