User warnings

The warnings on the article creators' talk pages aren't meaningless -- they need to be there (1) to warn the user not to do it again; (2) to make it easy to see if they're creating multiple bad pages. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 21:22, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 17:32, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism from Finland

Hello there.

Notice you gave user Kreegah several warnings. Thank g-d, finally!

New vandalism has occurred in "List of North European Jews", "List of Canadian Jews" and "List of Manitobans", checked "Canadian Who's Who" and "Who`s who in the world" all show that the edit was bogus, so I reverted, am not a regular user here, though so it was just a fluke, also vandalism seems to be race-related. There have been several major vandalism sprees of this type, most originating in Finland, Sweden and Czeck. Thanks again for noticing it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.112.209.4 (talk) 20:31, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I love TEMPLATES. They convey short, simple message (plural) ratehr than lots of words. Edits to Twin article

My recent edit to the Twin article does not at all constitute vandalism. I made a legitimate edit: one which improves the article by rewriting (or in this case, omitting) redundant phrases. Wikipedia's definition of vandalism is "any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." I have not done any of this. I made a constructive edit and described my changes in the edit summary. 75.27.41.134 (talk) 19:09, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

well it seems more logical to remove something that is incorrect than to keep it there until it has been modified. I did actually say what the name of the stadium was and i didn't think i would have to say it's location because there is only one stadium of light. Also there is a marker for a stadium in north wales when it should be in liverpool.

here is the link being used over wikipedia http://pictures.footymad.net/upload/247/284217-1.pdf

You asked me to provide a link to show the ratings, but can you show me a link for a list of all the stadium ratings? I don't think footymad.net should be enough, the images have been uploaded by users and could easily be fake. additionally it can't be recent because old trafford's capacity has been larger than that for some time and i don't believe 67,400 was ever it's capacity, suggesting that this file is unofficial. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.151.175.184 (talk) 16:17, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parasite, Disturbed Indestructible

Hello, I'm the guy you helped earlier with vandalism on the page Indestructible. You warned the person who kept re-adding the song "Parasite" without citing sources, he's completely stopped editing, for which I thank you. But now we have a new user, Disturbed92893, having an edit war with me about the song. I've told him to stop editing, unless he has a source to cite, but he continues editing, without a source, and has told me he will not stop editing because he "knows" (AKA speculates) that it is on this album, although, clearly, there's no official statement. I was wondering if you could warn this user please, and possibly place a protection on the page Indestructible. Thank you, tell me what happens please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dude527 (talkcontribs) 04:23, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Royal Blue (B, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Royal Blue (B&O train). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 17:49, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All track lists for the album have "Facade" spelled without an accented C. I was simply reverting the wrong information to the previous correct information. If you would like I could just edit instead of reverting. hav0xx (talk) 22:37, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, no problem. I actually just discovered on the iTunes track list that it is spelled with the accented C. Which is probably the more likely spelling as it would be spelled that way in your iTunes library. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hav0xx (talkcontribs) 22:46, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All-cap edit sums

You have every right to note that I may have inadvertently breached WP:CIVIL. I would have to note in turn, however, that any editor who automatically reverts an edit without reading the content of the edit is guilty of WP:VANDALISM. No hard feelings; we're all imperfect, and the fact we can all work together and for the most part get along despite this is a tribute to our community. --69.22.254.108 (talk) 17:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At the same time, wouldn't it be appropriate to also leave a note on the talk page of the editor who claimed he doesn't have to give citations for where last names come from (when the network itself isn't giving them)? Thanks. --69.22.254.108 (talk) 17:44, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reginald Earl Clinton.

It's all coming from one person, who is now up to a level 4 warning. If he posts it again, he'll get blocked. I generally like to reserve page protections for when more than 1 account is reposting a page. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 18:18, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is getting annoying

This stupid constant posting of Indestructible is getting annoying. People keep re-posting Parasite (not constantly, like before, but I got home and I think 3 people edited it back up). They even deleted your tag saying that Parasite should not be kept up, they changed it to something like "Keep Parasite up because it was on Inside the Fire single CD, so it belongs on this list". Sorry to bother you again, but are you sure we can't get at least some type of protection? Dude527 (talk) 20:47, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I like your style, I'm pretty sure that will stop people. Sorry to bug you so much about all this, you're the only person on Wikipedia who has ever really helped me like that though, so, well you know. Thanks again. Dude527 (talk) 00:15, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found some proof against Parasite being on Indestructible. The only website that lists it as anything, says "Non-Album Track" right next to the song. Hah. Dude527 (talk) 01:04, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hahah well, the only reason I mentioned that is because the user who kept reverting told me that "I don't have any proof AGAINST the song, so I shouldn't touch it". So much for that. The song does exist though, I've heard it, it's just unknown if it's a b-side to Indestructible, it'd be nice if it was though, it's a very good song. Dude527 (talk) 01:22, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure "very" isn't an understatement? I'm surprised at some people, for how surprisingly dumb they can be. I mean that level isn't in my capacity unless you get me drunk... Dude527 (talk) 01:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh my, now people keep re-adding Parasite to Disturbed Discography under "B-sides to Indestructible". It never ends, why do I even try to keep Wikipedia factual anymore? Oh and the user who you gave a formal level four warning, said if we block him, he will create a new account. Dude527 (talk) 02:01, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I guess it's ok, many people tend to skipthe "discography" and go to the track listings for the individual albums, the best we could do is keep Parasite off of there as much as possible, and hope people overlook it when it is there. Dude527 (talk) 02:22, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The ADC despite "Corporation" in its name appears to be a UN-connected not-for-profit organisation defined as follows:

Andean Development Corporation (Corporación Andina de Fomento, CAF)

A multilaterial financial institution that reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and integration through initiatives promoting the Andean region's cultural values

It is not therefore a for-profit corporation, which for a moment you tagged as "for quick deletion".

Why did you consider my edits to the paper folding page vandalism?

How could my edit on paper folding could possibly be considered vandalism? Not only did I remove a mysterious sounding term which would mean nothing to 90 percent of Wikipedia users, but I also added the number of times she folded the paper, and explained that she did nothing more than calculate how long a piece of paper has to be, to be folded in half 12 times then fold a sheet of that length. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.0.94.101 (talk) 04:57, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Pledge of Allegiance

My change to the article on the US Pledge of Allegiance was NOT vandalism. Upon checking the source, of the content I changed, "Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 4, US Code," I discovered that the correct words are "render the military salute" rather than "stand at the position of attention." This amendment was added in 2002 and should be reflected in the article. I made the edit again and posted a comment about it on the discussion page for that article.

Hi. I have been doing some research and have found that perhaps you have a certain past...and more disturbingly present on the community you are not revealing. The wikipedia community does not approve of 'good cop-bad cop' accounts. I think you really need to consider what your long term plans are, because sooner or later people will find out. It will be best for you if you just admit your alter ego's existence now rather than later in front of the panel. I hope you make the correct choice.

This is the last i shall say on the matter, you have done nothing to hurt me so i shall not present my case to a panel. I was just giving you a friendly warning. Cheers and loads of wikilove.

Also what is the relevance of points 5 and 6 you posted on my talk page? Have you not heard of 'you'll never walk alone?'

here's my suggestion to him to reconsider his actions. He has promptly removed it (not questioned) but his arcane talk page statements seem to continue. Prashanthns (talk) 19:50, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
^I responded to your suggestions Prashanthnson on my talk page. J.delanoy, i am going to give you one last chance to back off. We both know what you have really been up to. I don't want to bring this out in the open because you for the most part a good post, who seems to want the best for wiki. This is why i find some of your less obvious actions confusing. I hope you now choose to climb out of the hole you are digging whilst i am giving you the chance. I suggest you sit down, have a cup of hot choc or the like and be honest with yourself; what is your motive behind editing wiki? You seem have three to me and they don't go together.

Cheers and much wikilove.
