Rachel Rice (born 7 March 1984) is a Welsh actress and model. She is most well known for being the winner of Big Brother 9 in the United Kingdom.[1] She has a degree in English and Drama, although this does not make her intelligent. She does not know what a Walrus is or if someone is black or not. She then went on to train as a drama teacher.

Career

Acting

She has taken part in various advertisements worldwide - including the Sony Handycam 'Fairies at the Bottom of the Garden' commercial in 1991.[2] She has also been in various movies. The best known being Night Train to venice with Hugh Grant in 1993 when she was 8 years old.

She supposedly gave up acting after Hugh Grant told her that education was more important.[3]. As an adult she has been in a number of commercials, and played a supporting role in the TV series The History of Mr Polly, mainly to help support herself through University. Rachel has fantastic acting skills.

Big Brother

She entered the Big Brother house on 5 June 2008. She was announced as the winner of her series on 5 September 2008 beating her close friend Michael Hughes in the final vote by 51.3% of the vote.[4] This made her the third female winner of Big Brother in the UK . Rachel was best known in the house for her close friendships with Michael, and Kathreya, being strong willed, as well as being teased for not giving her opinions on some matters, dubbed as "sitting on the fence." She also has a truly world class bum. [citation needed]

On the BBLB reunion show Rachel confessed to having plans for spending some of her £100,000 winnings on paying student debts, buying a new car, keeping Kathreya Kasisopa sufficiently supplied with cookies and giving £10,000 to charity.[5] Rachel was asked a question by Davina on big brother's big mouth about sharing the money. The only people who took this question serious was the digitalspy members who all seem take the show too seriously.

Modelling

She was second runner up in the 2003 Miss Wales contest, which was won by Imogen Thomas who coincidentally has appeared in series seven of Big Brother UK. She has gone on to represent both South and North Wales in Miss Great Britain. In 2004, she won the Wales On Sunday Newspaper's Welsh Idol. Rachel was a top ten finalist in the 2005 More magazine's Most fanciable girl in the UK beauty contest.[6]
