WKCY-FM is a Country formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Harrisonburg, Virginia, serving the Central Shenandoah Valley. WKCY-FM is owned and operated by Clear Channel Communications.

History

WKCY-FM started as WJSY-FM on September 15, 1980 with an Adult Contemporary format. Mid-Atlantic (former owners of WINC and WINC-FM) bought WJSY and sister WKCY-AM on February 9, 1988. That same year WJSY switched calls to WKCY, becoming country in 1990. Mid-Atlantic sold WKCY-FM/AM to Clear Channel in 2000. WKCY-FM/AM's studios are on University Blvd. near the Valley Mall in Harrisonburg.
