Game Templates

Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Computer and video games

rv, you keep changing the template to standards that haven’t been finalized yet, you're jumping the gun

rv, again, changes weren't brought up on talk page like required, plus it doesn't follow {{Navbox generic}} standards, which is norm for these navboxes

Just as a heads up: the villain list is getting insanely too big. The "dark" versions of characters are only used in training missions, which in my opinion isn't notable enough to be listed. I've posted a section on the talk page about this, but I doubt it will get many responses. It seems like most of the people that edit the page, don't check the talk page alot. Re: Mathbot missing importance

There is a bit of a bug with Mathbot. Whenever it does quality stats boxes, like Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Canada-related articles by quality statistics, it doesn't link to the importance categories, and will infact remove the links if they have been added when it updates, like here. Just wanted to let you know so you can improve the bot. JQFTalkContribs 15:33, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed that. The stats will have those links when the bot runs tonight. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 22:08, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You may wish to check out {{tlu}}.

Please check out the changes I made at Wikipedia talk:Userboxes/New Userboxes -- 02:44, February 17, 2007. You used {{tl}} for templates in your user space. However, you wanted {{tlu}}. Same thing, but different namespace. Will (Talk - contribs) 08:48, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed your user boxes

You had many user boxes that were not displaying properly because they were moved per WP:UM. Please verify I got the correct boxes. I doubt what you had was what you wanted. So this version is almost certainly an improvement. Will (Talk - contribs) 03:58, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I hadn't been aware of a major userbox migration. Everything seems to be fine. JQFTalkContribs 13:55, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:PleaseThinkOfTheCatgirls.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Comanche

With regard to your edit of 21 March, I am not sure that pushing the TOC off of the first screen of the Comanche article is necessarily a good thing. It might be better instead to move, or delete, the map on the left hand side. What do you think? --Bejnar 22:25, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, with an article that long and with that many sections, something needs to be done with the TOC, although the image may have confused what needed to be done. I'd say that the image should be moved, as it still has purpose, but doesn't appear to be in the right section. JQFTalkContribs 22:40, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved some stuff around. How does it look? JQFTalkContribs 22:57, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It looks ever so much better. Thanks. --Bejnar 23:07, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I note that you have linked a few You Tube clips from your user page. Would you possibly reconsider this given that some of the links appear to be to possible copyright violations?

It is appreciated that a lot of material on You Tube is 'grey', but linking to potential copyright violations reflects badly on yourself and Wikipedia. Replacment of the links with 'legal' ones or with links to content under 'free' licences would be ideal Sfan00 IMG 12:47, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of I Love the World

A tag has been placed on I Love the World, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TorstenGuise (talk) 13:49, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This template is only for films that have moved beyond announced and are already in production. As you may notice in the history... I already attempted to add the Avengers series to the list once. Adding the Avengers series to this list is a sure fire way to get the article The Avengers (film series)‎ deleted. You could help defend tha article on Talk:The Avengers (film series)‎... eventually... there will be enough movies in production to add it to the template.--Dr who1975 (talk) 17:44, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. To prevent this issue from occurring again, I've added <!--NOTE: This template is only for films that have moved beyond announcements and are already in production--> to various spots in the template so that people can clearly see this. JQFTalkContribs 18:01, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That was a good idea.--Dr who1975 (talk) 21:45, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:BigbyWolf.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:BigbyWolf.JPG. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:46, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:PWK.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:PWK.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:41, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to a Detective Conan/Case Closed wiki

I am sending this because I seen you adding the {{Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Userbox/User Detective Conan}} userbox on your userpage. I hope I'm not spamming you here.

I have proposed for a Detective Conan/Case Closed Wiki in December 2007, and outside for some admin issues, the wiki is close to fruition. However, I have a lack of people having wiki experience to create guidelines, to administrate the wiki, and also to create userboxes that I consider essential for a snapshot of the content.

As a result, I cordially invite you to Kudo's Bookshelf, the Detective Conan/Case Closed encyclopedia.

Since this wiki is still under construction, joining the wiki needs my approval. Please do not hesitate contacting me on my talk page.

Thank you for your attention!

Speedy deletion of Image:Bsod 2008olympics.jpg

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

I wasn't aware of Dion plagiarizing anything of Suzuki's, but if there's a credible source and it's recent enough to impact the election and/or of a relevant topic, ie about something on the Liberal's platform, go ahead. JQFTalkContribs 16:36, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ultimate-wolverine-vs-hulk.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
