Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Selena, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot.

  • Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • Cluebot produces very few false positives, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been detected as unconstructive, please report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Selena was changed by AJona1992 (u) (t) deleting 7895 characters on 2010-01-26T22:16:34+00:00 . Thank you. ClueBot (talk) 22:16, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Jonathan.

Here's the link, diff, to your edit in which you added Category:Mexican musicians. That's what my edit was about. SamEV (talk) 01:50, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, sorry. I know Selena is Mexican-American but yea someone should if not created; create Category:Mexican-American musicians, thanks! AJona1992 (talk)

I cleaned up your changes. My edit had to do with grammar, punctuation, and such, but also with Wikipedia's formatting style. See Talk:Selena for more.
I'm neither for or against your changes. If they get reverted, try talking it over with the reverter, rather than repeating your edits. But if, if you do restore your edits, I ask that you restore to a cleaned up version, such as this last one, or an even newer one; then perhaps make any further changes to that version. Repeating your recent edits would put the same errors back into the article. Remember, this is a featured article, so we should make sure that it always looks nice for all of its readers.
Take care, Jonathan. SamEV (talk) 06:36, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
See the links in the welcome message above. The specific guide you asked for might be WP:BETTER. Good luck. SamEV (talk) 01:01, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Those edits you just did need heavy cleanup. I'd do it, by I can't right now. If you want, create a sandbox with your version of the article. I'll then help clean it up tomorrow, so you can load it into the article afterwards. To create a sandbox just write "/sandbox" in your browser's address bar, after your user name. SamEV (talk) 18:20, 21 February 2010 (UTC); 18:27, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will, later in the day. Remind me if I forget. SamEV (talk) 17:53, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you haven't created the sandbox. Click here to create it with your version of the article. Then message me on my talk page if you want my help editing those changes. SamEV (talk) 17:57, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent. I'll go look at some articles and then edit it. SamEV (talk) 22:21, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I just edited it. See the edit summary and also the sandbox's talk page. SamEV (talk) 04:29, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cite error fixed. SamEV (talk) 17:56, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh... I thought you were going to make some more changes to the sandbox, such as putting back a few sentences that were in your first version of the sandbox.

I added the refs section to fix the cite error, but it needs to be removed before you add that content to the Selena article, because the Selena article already has a refs section. SamEV (talk) 18:11, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about the cite error message. It won't show in the Selena article. SamEV (talk) 18:13, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If the cite error shows up in the Selena article, I'll fix it, so don't worry about it.

Now remember: I don't necessarily endorse your changes. I'm only trying to make sure that they're presentable. Good luck. SamEV (talk) 18:20, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I said it just above: it won't show up in the real article. The reason you see it in the sandbox is only because the sandbox version has no References section. But if somehow it shows up, I'll fix it anyway. SamEV (talk) 01:16, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, there you go, Jonathan: User:AJona1992/sandbox. Now it doesn't have a cite error. But if you ever add that content to the article, just remember to remove "==References==" and "{{reflist}}" beforehand, so the Selena article doesn't end up with two References sections. SamEV (talk) 00:57, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I'm done for the day, so if you do make any changes, I won't be able to help today. SamEV (talk) 00:59, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All right, I'll have a look later. SamEV (talk) 22:57, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Jon. I hope to do some work on the sandbox Saturday or Sunday. SamEV (talk) 02:10, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, just send me a message when your done, thanks!!! AJona1992 (talk) 03:25, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like you to load the content piecemeal, instead of at once, because I may have to review some of it. I mean especially the sources you gave in the paragraphs before she gets married: I don't think I tried verifying them when I edited that content a few weeks ago, and if you load everything at once it might overwhelm me if I have to read them all at once. Do you know what I mean? So I'd like for you to add the content maybe a paragraph, or two at most, per day.
But don't forge that, obviously, there are other users who will have their own opinions of these changes you're making. SamEV (talk) 06:50, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, finished. SamEV (talk) 01:22, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Selenaagree.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Selenaagree.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. — ξxplicit 06:33, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Answer

Hi, responding to your question about the banner - It links up to a newsletter that comes out every few months or so. They send updates about LGBT pages that have been edited, added, or need help. Feel free to reach out with more questions. kcflood (talk), 9:31, 8 February 2010 (UTC)

First, this image is orphaned which means it is subject to deletion unless it is used in an article within seven days of being tagged. Second, it's orphaned because it is entirely inappropriate to place a fair use image of a performer on that performer's discography. If you cast about the project, you will be hard pressed to find another discography which has a fair use image of a performer. If a person needs to see what Selena looks like, they can go to Selena, which has many images of her. Please stop re-instating this or any other non-free image to Selena discography. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 14:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not engage in Wikipedia:Edit warring over this non-free image. It is very, very unlikely that this use would meet the non-free content policy. See here and especially the part that says "The use of non-free media (whether images, audio or video clips) in galleries, discographies, and navigational and user-interface elements generally fails the test for significance (criterion #8)." Please do read the pages I've linked to. If you have questions, let me know. Angus McLellan (Talk) 00:20, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images

Please do not revert my edit, as you did here, without explanation. As I explained in my edit summary, I removed those non-free images because they are in violation of our non-free content criteria policy, which states Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information. There's only need for one non-free file as the rest wouldn't meet the criteria noted above. Please use the edit summary in the future to explain your edits, thank you. — ξxplicit 18:12, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Pop sampler (Selena single), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pop sampler (Selena single). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 23:28, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will see it, although I can't promise anything because I don't speak English very well (I speak Spanish better) and I don't have too much time nowadays. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Selena Foundation, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.q-productions.com/selenafoundation.html. DYK Nomination for Como La Flor (song)

I've turned this nomination down as the expansion started a lot more than 5 days ago and isn't at 5x yet - also you weren't the expander unless the IP 67.189.173.65 was you as well. Finally, when adding a nomination try not to mess up earlier nominations as you did to 'Dante's Dream'. Before making another nomination please familiarise yourself with the DYK rules, feel free to ask me if you have any questions about all this. Cheers, Mikenorton (talk) 14:57, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, and Yes I was the one who added all that information on April 7, 2010 as you can see "AJona1992" is below that person you are referring to. And I won't I didn't know how to nominate an article and was a little bit frustrated that there wasn't any help haha but ok. AJona1992 (talk) 15:16, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, I didn't mean to come over as annoyed, sorry if that's how it reads. Working out the amount of expansion of an article is never easy, there's a handy little add-on called 'DYK check' that makes it easier, which I can explain about adding if you're ever interested. I don't want to put anyone off from nominating articles to DYK, I made plenty of blunders when I first started putting some of mine forward. The rules probably seem rather picky, but now that I've started reviewing nominations as well, I'm getting to understand why they're there. It's not a bad idea just to watch the suggestions page for a while, as most things come up there. Cheers, Mikenorton (talk) 15:25, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

April 16

Hello. Your recent edit to April 16 has been reverted because it doesn't comply with Wikipedia guidelines. Wikicalendar guidelines state that only observances that occur on the same date each year and are the subject of their own Wikipedia article should be added to calendar articles. Additionally, entries should only be made for holidays and observances that are widely celebrated as such and not just dates on which certain events occur. Refer to WP:DOY for details on what are acceptable entries in Wikicalendar articles. Also, please don't add a "do not delete" comment to your entries as it is not a good method to make an argument for inclusion. If you have any questions or concerns, please start a discussion at Talk:April 16, but please don't add the entry back without consideration of consensus. Thank you. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 12:08, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of best-selling albums in the United States. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. — ξxplicit 20:52, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Selena Etc. GA nomination

Hi there, I've reviewed Selena Etc. against the GA criteria and unfortunately it doesn't meet the criteria at this time. I have left some comments at the review page. I think you may have been a little premature in nominating so many articles. Have a read over Wikipedia:Good article criteria for more information and try to compare the articles you're working on to other articles that are currently GA or FA. Peer review is a good first step for developing articles. For future reference, you need to add a template to the top of the talkpage of the article you're nominating, as described in the instructions at WP:GAN. Feel free to ask if you have any questions I didn't address in the review. Regards, --BelovedFreak 20:21, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, just to let you know that I removed your nomination for Selena discography from the WP:GAN page because lists don't get to be GAs for some reason. You could nominate it for featured list, but I would strongly recommend taking it to peer review first.--BelovedFreak 20:28, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Selena products

Regarding your GA nomination of Selena products, I have failed it and removed it from the nominations list, as it is not close to being ready for such a nomination. I cannot give it a review in the usual place, because you did not complete the nomination correctly (see step 3 of "How to nominate an article" at WP:GAN), so I will explain it here. The basic problems are: an almost complete lack of sources and references for the article (this alone is enough to disqualify it), a very inconsistent formatting of book titles (should be in italics), album titles (italics), and song titles (double quotes); some troubles with English usage; and the fact that most of the article is comprised of lists, which means it isn't eligible for "good article" status.

I'd strongly suggest you'd refrain from further GA nominations for a while, and instead study what existing GA articles look like and try to emulate them. Wasted Time R (talk) 03:48, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also on your photo, I corrected the exposure, so it's not so dark. If it was intentional feel free to revert. :) Mike Allen 21:23, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Selena

Hello, I see you have reverted the edits I have done. But I only put the unofficial web site because Crash Bandicoot allows it. So is Selena the only page not allowed to have sites like that? AJona1992 (talk) 15:53, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But there is a big difference between both article Selena is a WP:FA and Crash Bandicoot (character) (I think you refered to this article), is not, either, a WP:FA nor WP:GA. TbhotchTalk C. 19:19, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So your saying that only non FA's and GA's are allowed to have unofficial web sites? AJona1992 (talk) 19:23, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Mo, I am saying that non-FAs or GAs are in control and the additions of unsourced content, vandalism or other kind of editions deface them. Also, per WP:ELNO it is not allowed. TbhotchTalk C. 19:40, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Selena WikiProject

Thanks I'm actually completely ignorant about Selena; I simply created some subcategories and moved a page to a more appropriate title. Consequently, I can't really be of assistance to you. Let me know if there's something else I can do for you. —Justin (koavf)TCM19:37, 9 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate canvassing

Please do not leave other edits comments like this in order to persuade the result of the Selena WikiProject proposal; doing so is in violation of canvassing behavioral guideline. In the future, leave neutral notifications regarding such discussions without telling or alluding to another user whether to support or oppose a discussion. — ξxplicit 06:59, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but the article on Selena is not now a priority in our Biquipedia (aragonese Biquipedia). As we have very little time is better spent on higher priority issues. (automatic traduction) --Manuel Trujillo Berges (talk) 17:48, 19 July 2010 (UTC) (an:Usuario:Manuel Trujillo Berges)[reply]

I can do that, but I'm sorry that I can't spend my time writing the article right now. I guess you have to wait or look for the others... --ThHorus (talk) 07:51, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
