Sirius XM Hits 1 is an alternative rock-leaning Top 40 radio station on Sirius XM Radio channel 2 and Dish Network channel 6002. The channel was formerly known as US-1 until 2004, until acquiring the current name. All three names are parodies of VH1, which originally meant Video Hits 1. A channel called Vh1 Satellite Radio had once been carried on XM, but never on Sirius, but the channel was discontinued prior to the merger. In Canada and many Sirius receivers the channel is still known as Sirius Hits 1 (its American name until June 6, 2008). Even though the XM info has been added to the channel name, the channel was also added to the XM service, on XM channel 2 for the American online platform only. Until February 9, 2010, Sirius XM Hits 1 was on DirecTV channel 816. Even though Sirius XM Hits 1 leans modern rock, those songs are also played on its sister rock channels.

Sirius XM Hits 1 programming simulcasted on XM 20 On 20 from 9 p.m. to 12 Noon Eastern for 2 years, where it was announced as Sirius XM Hits 1 On 20 on 20..[1] This was until the May 4th channel merger, which saw it move from Sirius channel 1 to channel 2. Sister channel Pop2K began moving towards an all-2000s direction, thus requiring XM listeners to fill the void left by XM Hitlist and the original Pop2K.

May 4 Channel Line-Up

On May 4, 2011 at 12:01am EST, Hits 1 moved to a new home on channel 2 for both services and Dish Network channel 6002.
