Zee News, the news and current affairs channel, is the oldest channel of Zee News Ltd, founded in 1992. It was the first 24-hour Hindi current affairs and news channel in India. In spite of being the only pay channel in its genre, it maintains its position among the top three Hindi news channels in the country. There are possibilities of Zee News takeover by Aditya Birla Group subsidiary 25FPS Media Pvt Ltd. The transfer of shares from Charu Trading (owner of Zee News) to 25FPS Media happened from 31st Oct 2011 to 03rd Nov 2011. 25FPS Media is better known for their show Business Baazigar which aired on Zee News and fetched good TRP for Zee News.
