I am not making a request for blanking; the page is already meant to be blank. This means no one is allowed to post anything on it. This is not a hard concept to understand. You did not answer my question -- "How do we know that they are the same user?" All I am saying is that most users at Wikipedia would prefer NOT to allow any anonymous person to just come by and nonchalantly blank the entire page! The norm is for a Talk Page to be for "talk" not silence. --Skol fir (talk) 04:30, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that in most cases anons should not be allowed to just blank pages, however WP:CBLANK are special cases and every editor should be allowed to return pages that have been courtesy blanked to the blanked state. This whole post wouldn't have been needed if page protection is added if a page gets courtesy blanked. Perhaps that should be added to WP:CBLANK? I suppose if no one has objected for this long to the insertion of the courtesy blank, then the original owner of the User Page must have approved, or at least not disapproved of the blanking. I noticed on the info page you mentioned, "How to do this: Remove all text from the subpage and then add "Templ:subst:courtesy blanked"; for deletion discussions, use "Templ:subst:xfd-privacy|article|result with the correct parameters"." Having briefly glanced at her User Page, I am sure she did perform that task correctly. Now all we have to do is wait until someone ignores the request again, at which point, maybe you could ask for page protection under exceptional circumstances. False positive. Additions I could see were mainly sourced to the subject's selfpub source (on themselves) and were not particularly self-serving or controversial. Remainder of edit was copyedit or rearrangement of existing material. The BLP could do with more third-party sources though that doesn't affect their edit. The Edit filter likely triggered because the edit included "Her [official] blog, entitled "History is a Bitch - a weblog by ...". I don't see why this was marked done? (I changed it to Qmark). Yes, Bility and later Thumperward were kind enough to both confirm the code was all right and make the edits but that's all the more reason to consider if the filter needs to be changed. As a private filter "Template vandalism" can only be viewed by those with abusefilter permissions, so it's hard for either of us to evaluate.
