Clydesdale Bank Premier League
Season2012-13

The 2012–13 Scottish Premier League will be the fifteenth season of the Scottish Premier League, the highest division of Scottish football, since its inception in 1998. The season will start on 4 August 2012[1] and end on 19 May 2013.[2]

A total of twelve teams are contesting the league: eleven sides that competed in the 2011–12 season and one club promoted from the 2011–12 First Division.

Teams

Dunfermline were relegated from the 2011–12 Premier League. Ross County were promoted from the 2011–12 First Division to the Scottish Premier League, marking the top-flight debut for the Highland team.

The participation of Rangers will depend on the outcome of the SPL vote, on whether or not a "newco" Rangers will be allowed an SPL license. If the application is rejected, it is expected they will be replaced by Dundee who finished second in the 2011–12 Scottish First Division.[3]
