This article presents a list of U.S. states sorted by number of vehicles per capita. The vehicle figures are per 1,000 people.

regarding what seems like the anomolously low value for CO, see here http://neighbors.denverpost.com/viewtopic.php?t=15547587 which suggests that high registration costs account for this, and that the high value for WY includes cars that should probably be accounted for in CO
