Bigg Boss 7 is the seventh season of the Indian reality TV series Bigg Boss which aired on TV channel Colors from 15 September 2013, with Salman Khan returning as the host for the fourth time and this season is longer than its predecessor, Bigg Boss 6 and will last for 15 weeks (104 days) concluding on Saturday, 28 December 2013. The seventh season was launched with the tagline- 'Jannat Ka Wow Aur Jahannam Ka Aaw Dekhege Saath Saath'. The show started airing at 9:00 everyday from September 15.

House themes

On launch night, Bigg Boss announced that seven of the housemates will be moved to Heaven and the remaining shall stay in Hell. The responsibility to decide which housemate goes to which area was given to the first two entrants Tanisha and Andy by Bigg Boss.

Heaven

The heaven side of the house has a pool and a beach like feel and also has a portion that has a dome like ceiling designed to look like a skyline filled with clouds. The walls of the house are not only colorful but also have words like ‘crazy’ written on it with much flair. It also has a quote written on a wall that is the highlight of the living area. The house also includes a wash basin with a cycle. For the first time in the history of Bigg Boss, the house has a clock in the living room.

Hell

The hell side of the house has beds arranged on the floor but not much of a comfort to any of the contestants. The house is separated by a fence. There is one gate which is connected to the heaven side. Food is a big concern for the contestants as participants in this area do not have a kitchen. As per an announcement by bigg boss all the food is prepared by heaven living mates for themselves and for hell living mates. Also there is no demarcation between the bedroom and living area and will give the house a dormitory kind of a look. The toilets inside the hell half have only Indian style sitting and the water is to be filled manually and used for all daily chores from a tap planted outside.

Circumspection between Houses

According to the concept of Heaven and Hell, and the boundary between two houses, Bigg Boss orders some strictures among inmates of both houses. With these orders, Inmates are unable to cross the boundary of each other places without the permission of Bigg Boss, No one can give anything from heaven side to hell or vice versa in any condition, but, they can share only food which is the basic necessity of both inmates and as hellmates have no kitchen and all the responsibility of food is of heavenmates.

Bigg Boss Warden

For the first time in the history of Bigg Boss has an assistance of warden, called Bigg Boss Warden who will take the charge of keeping a close eye on the inmates. She has a responsibility for making inmates wake up on time, keep an eye on inmates tasks and their actions. It is the only new element that is common for both the houses.

Weekly summary

	Tasks	After the nomination process, Bigg Boss gave the first task to the housemates to conduct a chat show hosted by Andy and Shilpa, during which they were asked to ask questions to the nominated inmates. The luxury budget task demanded the hell housemates to ensure that the heaven side got the basic necessities like gas and water. This was to be accomplished by physical labor.
	Happenings	Day 1: The warden woke up the housemates with an alarming start clarifying all the rules to be followed during the continuation of the Heaven and Hell concept. Nominations took place where only the heaven housemates were allowed to vote. Additionally they were also specified that they would have to nominate two housemates of their choice from the hell side only. Kushal, Kamya, Elli, Ratan, Hazel and Pratyusha received the most votes to evict and consequently were put up for the first eviction of the season. Day 2: After the day started with a song, the housemates found no water and gas supply in the house. Then the warden announced the first luxury budget task where the hell housemates had to ensure that the heaven side got the basic necessities like gas and water. They were asked to churn two wheels which triggered water and gas supply. They were asked to continue this task throughout the night, while the heaven mates got to sleep. Day 3: Bigg Boss announces that the housemates have successfully completed the luxury budget task however will not receive full budget due to breach of rules by a few housemates. Anita shares a moment with Andy on her relationship with Rajesh Khanna. The fight over food continues through the evening and leads to an outburst between Gauhar and Armaan. Day 4: Heaven and Hell housemates are given an opportunity to send one housemate from their side to the other. Bigg Boss asks the hell-mates to choose one person from the hell side who has given maximum contribution to the wheel survival task on the previous day. They choose Armaan. Heaven housemates are called to the confession room and asked to nominate one housemate to move to the hell side. Gauhar receives maximum votes to move. Consequently Armaan and Gauhar swapped sides. Later, Bigg Boss announced the luxury budget and asks the heaven and hell-mates to select items worth 1200 points. Day 5: Bigg Boss called Apurva and Gauhar in confession room and asked them to nominate two names from the heaven side for captainship. With mutual consensus they nominated Andy and Tanisha. Later the heaven housemates votes Tanisha as the first house captain. Bigg Boss divulged that the heaven housemates can express their wishes individually regarding their personnel or house consanguine prerequisites in the wish wall arranged in garden area, while Hell housemates get furious as they are unable to wish for, Kushal and Apurva protest against it and took off their mikes, Bigg Boss calls Tanisha and gave her the Sangram and Rajat demands, Bigg Boss asks Tanisha, being a captain, to make understand housemates not to break the rules. Tanisha makes Kushal understand and he agrees to wear the mike. Day 6-7: Early in the morning Salman Khan announced that Hazel on receiving the fewest save votes is the first housemate to leave the house. It is revealed that after her eviction Kushal, Armaan and Gauhar had a fight and whole house is in tense mood. Rajat feels anxiety sickness and want's to go on health grounds.

Week 2
	Task	The hell housemates had to keep a tab of every minute and manually count every second to make an hour, while Heaven Housemates have to distract them and divert their attention, similarly task will be swapped among both housemates with equivalent duties in second half. If Hell Housemates won the task then in reward one will be sent to Heaven side and if Heaven Housemates won then sending to hell will be stopped for one week. On day 11 Bigg boss give task to both sides housemates, in which they can describe or characterize each other by one word they think for them on the given cards of respective housemate name.
	Happenings	Day 8: Tanisha alongside others Heaven Housemates took off their mkies as Bigg Boss didn't respond to their request, A psychiatrist comes to examine Rajat where Bigg Boss calls tanisha and makes her understand that Rajat is fine and feel anxiety due to hue situation of house. Later, Nomination took place and on the voting of Heaven Housemates only Kamya, Pratuysha, Gauhar anad Kushal were nominated all voted contestants receive equal number of votes, except Rajat who was nominated by Tanisha, as captain, as per the order of Bigg Boss to nominate one heaven housemate for eviction. Day 9: Tanisha and Andy had a conflict between each other on the grounds of duties, later they sought out. Bigg Boss Warden then announces and gave the second luxury task to both Housemates. Hell housemates were given a clock and they have to count the time manually to make one hour and later Bigg Boss Warden will telly the counted time with actual one and announce the results, while the Heaven housemates have to distract them and divert their attention. As task started, Arman and Rajat had emulation as Armann accused Rajat for doing favour to Hell housemates, first day task was clean swapped by Heaven housemates, and from the Hell sides Big Boss ask Kamya to nominate two names who show poor performance in task, she cognominate Ratan and Ellie, both have to count the time whole night and as a results if they succeeded Bigg Boss will award one mark to Hell Sides otherwise cut off one mark. Day 10: Ratan and Ellie complete their task, and become successful after the announcement of Bigg Boss Warden. Later, task was swapped among both sides housemates, this time heaven mates had to count the time and Hell mates had to distract the other side housemates, after several trials Heaven Housemates couldn't score and loose the task after the final announcement of Bigg Boss Warde in results the triumph of Hell mates, during the day Gauhar, Shilpa, Andy and Tanisha were warned about breaking rule of "not speaking english". Bigg Boss then punishes Andy, Shilpa and Tanisha for over breaking the rule after warning, they have to do 100 sit-ups in garden area, after several sit-ups Bigg Boss accept their apology. Bigg Boss calls tanisha and ask to nominate to names which can be saved for going to Hell Side, after mutal consensus Tanisha nominate Shilpa and later Anita, Bigg Boss adds twist that among chosen mates a game will be held and the wnning one will be remain in Heaven and other one will moved, Shilpa won the game and stayed in Heaven. Day 11: Bigg Boss calls Arman and Gauhar in confession room and ask them to nominate any two Havenmates to Arman who have poor performance in the task, while to Gauhar Bigg Boss asked to nominate any two who have show best performance, as per the rule & results of last luxury Budget task. after mutual consensus, they decided to nominate Rajat and Sangram and Gauhar nominated herself and Kushal. later Bigg Boss ask to announce the nominated names and nominated ones will directly swapped the sides. Armann then nominate Sangram and Andy instead of Rajat due to health problem, on which Andy show hinderance that he is being nominated without telling, While hell mates also feels that Gauhar takes the decision alone as she mislead them by interpreting the orders by Bigg Boss. Bigg Boss sends a doctor for Rajat he examine him, while Bigg Boss makes Armaan and Gauhar understand that Rajat is fine he has minor problems on which he cannot ejected from show. All nominated housemates swapped the sides, new entrant Asif azeem a Bengali-Indian super model barge in the house. Day 12: New entrant Asif Azim meets every one in the house, then Bigg Boss Warden introduce Asif to all housemates. Bigg Boss calls Asif in confession room and ask him to nominate two names for week second captainship, he then nominates Tanisha and Armaa. Nomination took place and Bigg Boss allows only Hell mates to vote for captain through a ballet system, Tanisha won the captainship again with five votes against two for Armaan. Bigg Boss awarded Luxury Budget to House and as per the victory of Hell mates in last luxury task, only they are allowed to choose house consanguine prerequisites. Bigg Boss called Kamya to share her feeling regarding the show down she had with Gauhar, bigg Boss then assures that her daughter is fine. Later Bigg Boss announce to Heaven mates for expressing their wishes in wish-wall in garden area, random heavenmates express their desires. Bigg Boss give a task to both side housemates in which every one can characterize each other with one word they think for them on respective card of the Housemate name, Gauhar and Kamya had dispute with each other regarding being characterized. Day 13-14: Salman Khan announces the second week nomination results, Rajat was evicted after facing public vote against Kushal.

Controversies

• On the launch night, immediately after Kushal Tandon's arrival, Tanisha and Andy were asked to decide which side they would like to place Kushal. Having found the decision tough to execute VJ Andy tried to base the solution on who he would like to share a bed with due to the lack of single beds on the heaven side. Right before Andy could announce his decision Kushal interrupted him saying that he doesn't want to share a mattress with Andy and would rather share it with a female housemate. A flurry of comments on microblogging site twitter soon began to pour in terming Kushal as a homophobe. The media analysing the actor's statement further reoriented the audience's attention towards the topic claiming it to be verging on bigotry and an insult to the LGBT community. Colors Viacom received around 560 complaints overnight regarding the issue.
