New Generation Party (Romania)

The New Generation - Christian Democrat Party (Partidul Noua Generaţie - Creştin Democrat) is a christian democratic political party in Romania. At the last legislative elections, 28 november 2004, the party won 2.2 % of the popular vote but no seats in the Chamber of Deputies and Senate. The president of the party is Gigi Becali.

The party has been suspected of having links with the neo-fascist organization Noua Dreaptă. A former advisor of Becali, the president of the PNG, resigned from the party after stating that "it followed that people from Noua Dreaptă would become the "spinal cord" [foundation] of the New Generation Party."^[1]
