Zee News, is an Indian news and current affairs channel founded in 1999 by BJP. Initially most of the programs were broadcast in English. Around 2003-04, after the success of Aaj Tak, Zee News was converted into a complete Hindi news channel.

Company profile

Zee News is a part of Zee News Ltd (ZNL), which is itself a part of Essel Group,[1] which operates entertainment and regional entertainment and is listed on market as Zee News Limited. It was demerged from Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd in 2006.

Controversy

Navin Jindal accused Zee News of trying to extort 100 crores from him for not airing stories against his company in Coal Scam. Zee refuted the charges and made counter charges of Jindal offering them 25 crores to halt their investigations against Jindal steel in the coal scam.[2]

In December 2013, Arvind Kejriwal accused Zee News for showing the wrong information about his and Anna Hazare's relationships.
