Thanks for your message! You may want to message 73.22.123.79 about the edits on Interstate 80, and they contributed the content. I merely changed formatting and added internal links, since I was unsure about removing the info outright. Jcohen42 (talk) 16:29, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to WP: Help Desk does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Robert McClenon (talk) 17:33, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm CAPTAIN RAJU. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Villains in Power Rangers Turbo have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. CAPTAIN RAJU(T) 20:37, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
I'm sure CAPTAIN RAJU would be the first to say it, but the above is a mistake. Methinks he'd been fighting too many real vandals and was vandal-fatigued. Thank you for the aforementioned edit to Villains in Power Rangers Turbo, it was clearly a reversion of vandalism. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 20:56, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I greatly appreciate your constructive edits on Wikipedia. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing without logging in, but many editors recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (99.53.112.186) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome!

Thanks, the Billionaires page should be about billionaires, not all the losers who have nothing. Please remove that section on the poor who have little wealth. That subject should be on income inequality or something. The billionaires page should be for glorifying wealth and those that amass it.Telfordbuck (talk) 16:26, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, i've seen what you have done, and to be honest, I am impressed, I don't think I have ever seen an IP editor do this much vandal work, therefore I made this hopefully delicious cookie (message), Please keep up the great work!

P.S: I'm not sure if IP editors have access to this, but Twinkle can also give you SOME rollback permissions. Anyways have a great day, and I hope that I see more of your wonderful work in the future! Wikipediauser123456 (talk) 03:30, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all the recent reverts! It's not often that we see IP editors active in anti-vandalism work! Couldn't help but pile on encouragement to create an account, not just for the sake of it, but primarily because tools such as rollback and Twinkle would help you do your job more efficiently and quicker. Piling up mine, thank you for patrolling and fighting vandalism, as you just did at History of Earth. I would have used the thank feature, but this only works for registered accounts. —PaleoNeonate01:10, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Recent block

Hi, as you've probably noticed I put a block on this IP this afternoon as it was raising numerous flags on the edit filter. As there were so many, and it would take me a while to go through all the diffs to check a general clean bill of good-faith edits, this is why I had to put a short block. As the old saying goes, blocks are preventative and not punishment. (FWIW I've sometimes edited logged out at my local library and come up against a block or getting edits reverted and it drives me up the wall!) Hope that's all okay. Reverting

You are reverting vandalising edits too quickly. Normally, this privilege is allowed for registered (auto)confirmed users, but not for IPs and new users. Please slow down and give the revision some time before reverting it. Thank you. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 21:02, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Jd22292:I personally see no reason why this rule should apply to this user, based on the fact that he has obviously been helping out Wikipedia for a very long time, granted he doesn't have an account, but in my opinion, if ANY user, IP or not sees an edit that appears to be vandalism, it should be reverted as soon as possible, not kept for a short amount of time because the person who saw it was an IP user. I would understand if it was a new IP user who just joined wikipedia, but this IP user has been here for just over a year, so this rule should not apply to him. If there is another reason that this rule is in place that I missed, please let me know. Thank you and have a great day! Wikipediauser123456 (talk) 02:52, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikipediauser123456: Thanks for letting me know. I only made the message because I noticed the edit filter kept going off with each revert. I am aware that the IP is doing the right thing too. It's just I only expect rapid reverts from an experienced user, let alone an IP. The only thing we can do is hope he creates an account to help us further in the fight against vandalism. I would like to see this IP do such and try to build his account to autoconfirmed status. jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk) 02:58, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Jd22292:Ok thank you, although noting that he hasn't made an account to this point, the chances of him doing it from here forwards is low. Have a great day! Wikipediauser123456 (talk) 16:56, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • jd22292, the editor is an experienced user, even though he doesn't have an account (these aren't mutually exclusive). Reverting vandalism quickly is not some sort of privilege that can be taken away. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 20:14, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A beer for you!

It's always five o'clock somewhere. Drmies (talk) 20:15, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I'll engage

Which is a greater courtesy than you extended me: I twice attempted to issue a level two warning here [1], and you twice reverted without explanation, the second time after leaving this comment [2]. The IP added a non-existent category, in what did not appear to be a good faith edit [3]. This is a first for me in nearly a dozen years, so I'm wondering whence the perception that I've run afoul of our guidelines. Thank you, 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 22:51, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

IPv6 timeline

So the largest IPv6 Internet backbone in the world being the first to pass 4000 network adjacencies is not deemed historically worthy of being on the IPv6 deployment page... LOL. Due to the speed of the reversion it's apparent that the reverse was automated. This is a historically significant event and worth preserving for the historical record. IPv6 is now being run by more networks than existed on the Internet in 2000. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.105.131.150 (talk) 09:23, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can you show me where the word 'liber' means 'free'

Not sure why you reverted my edit, but I cited Tufts latin dictionary [1] - nowhere is "liber" defined as "free". I'm not going to revert your edit, but I think a second look is warranted. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.26.16.236 (talk) 13:11, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Watching the recent changes and doing something about it

The Recent Changes Barnstar
For your work watching Recent Changes (since you have no watchlist) and reverting/ reporting vandalism as you did at User talk:Oshwah. Did you know that if you register an account you can have a watchlist, and ensure that your communicatons with fellow editors always address you and not just the fuzzy end of your telecommunications network? We could even provide you semi-automated tools to make countervandalism easier. Best of all, as a registered editor you can turn off the WMF's annual beg-a-thon and vote for or against our slates of ARBCOM members. Regardless, you're doing good things. August 2017

Information icon Hello 99.53.112.186. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Lucent Public School,Ram Gulam Tola,Deoria. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.Template:Z149 Adam9007 (talk) 17:35, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
