11:44:42, 31 March 2018 review of submission by Jeric Nunez

Hi! There,My name is Jeric, I made a page but I don't know if the page has been reviewed and accepted. The page was 2X declined and I think it has no matter that the page declined in how many times. Is my page accepted because I'm waiting for 3 weeks of confirmation?

Thanks for continues support
Jeric Nuñez

Jeric Nunez (talk) 11:44, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jeric Nunez. Draft:Pag-asa National High School is in the pool of drafts to be reviewed. With the current backlog it likely will be reviewed by the second week of May. See the large yellow box at the top of the draft for more information. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:11, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

22:50:54, 31 March 2018 review of submission by Mjwellington

It seems all the reviewers of this page are unfamiliar with what confers notoriety in literature in New Zealand. They don't seem to understand the majority of the links are from the premier magazine and literary journal of records, with a spate of news stories from both mainstream and alternative sources. It's deeply frustrating to have people unfamiliar with this area search for a reason to reject articles when they clearly have no knowledge of the specifics of the field. I was going to help expand the number of pages of NZ authors on wikipedia but if they're going to be all measured and rejected by people who have no idea what they're doing it is a pointless task and I'll just leave this to be deleted. Mjwellington (talk) 22:50, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mjwellington I have made some suggested edits to your entry on Brannavan Gnanalingam - please do go back to the original as written if you don't like them. Thank you so much for drawing my attention to this emerging novelist (under 40 is young for a novelist) - I look forward to following his work. I do hope that your submission will be accepted. It is a good project in my view and I do sympathize with your frustration. I do hope that my edits will help!! All good wishes! Yrarendar (talk) 05:20, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 10:29:15, 1 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Yrarendar

Dear Help Desk I am new to Wikipedia - though I have one article accepted. I have written an article on the French journal Trafic: une revue de cinéma because it was requested by Wikipedia. I was reading an article on Raymond Bellour and was re-directed to the request when I clicked on Trafic for which Bellour is an editor. The article on Trafic was declined because the topic was not notable and insufficient references were provided. I provided 8 references for this short description, including one to an article in the newspaper Le monde' however these were in French. Could this be the problem? I should add that I would not have written the article if it had not been requested. Should I ignore such requests in the future? I read French and was familiar with the journal, so I thought that I might be able to assist. Any suggestions that the Help Desk might have would be much appreciated. Best wishes Yrarendar (talk) 10:29, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yrarendar, Mjwellington - Shall certainly go and have a look at the draft to see what needs doing. And many thanks for helping out with a requested draft. By an odd, but happy, chance, I wonder of you might also be able to help the author above. It is clear they are becoming frustrated by the challenges in demonstrating Notability for a New Zealand author. Given your own success in this area, I thought you might be able to advise on possible sources? KJP1 (talk) 11:10, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yrarendar, Mjwellington - Yrarendar, thanks very much for helping out. I'll go and have a look at both drafts later. KJP1 (talk) 06:04, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 18:21:27, 1 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Am manoaj

Am manoaj (talk) 18:21, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Am manoaj - Not sure what the question is, as I don't think you've submitted a draft. But, on your sandbox, I would say that writing your own entry on Wikipedia isn't a good idea and, at the moment, I'm not seeing Notability. KJP1 (talk) 19:23, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

14:30:50, 2 April 2018 review of submission by Neypar9

Hello,

I am working in conjunction with a colleague of mine (Neypar9) to submit a draft for publication on the wiki platform. The draft was initially rejected and re-edited to meet the guidelines, however the reviewer has rejected the article again requesting information not outlined by wiki guidelines. So we are requesting that the article be submitted to another editor for review. Neypar9 (talk) 14:30, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

no Declined for citing no independent, reliable sources, and thus failing to demonstrate notability. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:48, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why is my draft not reviewed, C'mon, it has 25 sources and is good, Can somebody review it, either you can accept the draft or reject it. Newroderick895 14:47, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Newroderick895. About 1,330 drafts have been waiting longer to be reviewed than Draft:Kronans Apotek. At the current rate of reviewing, you can expect it to be reviewed by the end of May. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:29, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

14:49:04, 2 April 2018 review of submission by Neypar9

This a follow-up to the request for another editor to review an article submitted by User "Neypar9". We are including the Wiki guidelines as well as links to information that meets those guidelines that I submitted to the last editor in hopes that after review he would approve the article for publication.

"A S.O.G. here and I'm responding on behalf of my colleague"NeyPar9"to your decision to decline our request to have a page created for the artist known as Qmoog. We have noticed that in your response you indicated a lack of notoriety for this artist as your reasoning for declining our page request. Having investigated wikipedia guidelines further we have discovered that the subject need only to satisfy one of the qualifications to be considered "Notable". As a result, I am including two of those guidelines of which this artist meets that criteria along with links to verify them: "Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crammed_Discs), "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album."(https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Deepest-Shade-Of-Techno-III/release/8187).

After you have taken the opportunity to review this information, I believe you will come to the conclusion that this artist warrants inclusion on the Wikipedia platform and we respectfully request that you approve the article.

Thank you for your time

Best regards," Neypar9 (talk) 14:49, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Neypar9. Having released two albums on Crammed Discs is a plausible argument for meeting WP:MUSICBIO criterion #5 (I make no comment on The Deepest Shade of Techno because discogs, being user-generated, is not a reliable source), so Qmoog may be notable. Use that in the first or second sentence or to tell the reader what Qmoog is known for, as described in MOS:BLPLEAD.
The reason for notability guidelines is to ensure that articles comply with Wikipedia's policies. Our policy on verifiability says, "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it." (Also note that the bulk of any article should be based on secondary sources.) What reviewers may have failed to convey is that Wikipedia cares very little about what Qmoog and his label say about Qmoog. Almost all Wikipedia is interested in is what independent sources say about Qmoog, and the draft isn't citing any independent sources. Start over with at least three independent reliable sources, perhaps reviews by professional music critics in reputable publications of those two releases on Crammed Discs. Base the draft mainly on those independent sources. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:41, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Neypar9: I agree with Bruce, but just wanted to say, props for doing your legwork and checking your topic against the criteria of WP:Notability (music). A lot of people beat their head against the wall working a draft but never bother to read that policy recommended to them, so you've saved yourself a lot of hassle. Concur with Bruce that you need to make sure you don't "bury the lead" but rather make it explicitly clear in the first one or two sentences just what the band is Notable for. But yes, now that you've tackled that the next issue is finding WP:Independent sources covering the band. MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:37, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

21:24:19, 2 April 2018 review of submission by Aparashar

Hi - how can one single line "Potpourri Group is a direct marketing company based in Massachusetts, USA. It was founded in 1963 [1] and now has 15 [2] brands in its portfolio" be described as "appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia." It is a matter of fact encyclopedic statement. Please review again. Aparashar (talk) 21:24, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Aparashar - Have done, and I'd agree with the original reviewer. We determine whether companies warrant an article on Wikipedia by assessing Notability. We assess Notability by looking for "significant coverage from reliable sources independent of the subject". In this case, the only source is the company's website. That's not significant coverage and it's not independent. So what you have is two sentences about a marketing company sourced to itself. On the world's biggest online encyclopedia. To me, that's an attempt to advertise. I see this is the only article you've ever tried to write. Do you have a connection to the company? If you do, that needs to be declared as a conflict of interest. Hope this is helpful. KJP1 (talk) 21:45, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

12:13:55, 3 April 2018 review of submission by Yashi Yadav

Yashi Yadav (talk) 12:13, 3 April 2018 (UTC) Why my contribution nominated for deletion/[reply]

I think this should be here for people who google or finds him on wiki.

i am disappointed

- Yashi Yadav - The article has been nominated for deletion. However, we aren't really the place to be able to do much to help. The article has been placed in mainspace, and is not under the Articles for creation remit, as we deal with the acception of draft articles. However, the subject Chandan saxena doesn't seem like a notable figure, and is very unlikely to pass General Notability Guidelines, or WP:CREATIVE.
This is also not just a nomination for deletion, but a discussion over deletion. You can see the deletion discussion, and comment on it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chandan saxena. You will need to prove why the article needs to be on Wikipedia. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 12:28, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

13:27:51, 3 April 2018 review of submission by JLL87

Good day,

I have submitted an article for review but have yet to include images. Wrote the article on behalf of an organisation and they would like to give permission to use images from their website, but I notice that the copyright agreement gives use to any party for any reason whatsoever. Is there any agreement that just gives permission to Wikipedia? JLL87 (talk) 13:27, 3 April 2018 (UTC)JeffLuk87[reply]

JLL87 (talk) 13:27, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JLL87:. Images can only be placed in drafts if they are completely free images. Unless the company uploads the images to WikiMedia, (IE, free for literally anyone to use), they can't be used on drafts. However, non-free images (like the ones you suggested earlier), could be used if the article was no longer a draft, so I would concentrate on that. I haven't reviewed the article, but it does seem to have an awful lot of WP:PRIMARY sources; and whilst primary sources are usable, it may cause issues regarding getting the article published. You will need to get the article to pass General Notability Guidelines; which requires Significant coverage in secondary reliable sources. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:49, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Jll877, non-free images can only be used if they satisfy all 10 of the Non-free content criteria. This can be tricky. But in any case, get the draft into shape to be accepted as an article first, then worry about images, whether free or non-free. That is my advice. 17:39:35, 3 April 2018 review of submission by Nina07011960

Hello. How do I upload a photo to a page/article? Nina07011960 (talk) 17:39, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nina07011960. Adding an image is a two-step process: first upload it, then use it in on a page.
Go to Commons:First steps and carefully step through the tutorial. When you get to "First steps/Uploading files", don't dive in too hastily. First follow the link on that page to learn about the different licensing options. Other useful advance reading includes Wikipedia:File names and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Images, which will prepare you to answer important questions the upload wizard will ask you. If after that you have any questions or doubts, Commons has its own help desk.
Once you've uploaded an image, the picture tutorial can guide you through how to use it on a page. --Worldbruce (talk) 01:12, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

17:50:58, 3 April 2018 review of submission by Blake13971

If I am the owner of the material, am I able to publish it?

Blake13971 (talk) 17:50, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you own the copyright (which is not the same as owning the physical document), Blake13971, you can release it under a free license, and that makes it usable on Wikipedia as far as copyright is concerned. You would need to follow the steps at Donating Copyrighted Materiel. However, most outside text is not written with our neutrality principal in mind. That means it may well not be suitable for inclusion in an article. Everything depends on the specific text and the particular article. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 18:02, 3 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

03:37:01, 4 April 2018 review of submission by TheGoldenArmor375

Good day, I am currently needing help for the creation of the basketball finals template for the MPBL. It should look like just like derived from the PBA conference finals infobox ones, in order to display correct information. I need this ASAP because the finals will start expected on April 12, Thursday. TheGoldenArmor375 (talk) 03:37, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

TheGoldenArmor375 the layout isn't the issue with the article, it's the lack of sourcing for it. The main article will cover the topic, and a standalone article should only be written if it's worthwhile for a standalone article. What you have so far is a bracket, with no information, or referencing. I'd also argue, it fails WP:CRYSTALBALL. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 08:36, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So you mean the lack of references for the article and WP:CRYSTALBALL are the main problems of my draft? --TheGoldenArmor375 (talk) 15:04, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much. An article doesn't really need to made on the championships before anything is really known about it. At the moment, all of this information is in the main article as well, anyway. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:30, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

18:09:46, 4 April 2018 review of draft by 173.219.129.75

File:Screenshot 2018-04-04 at 1.02.12 PM.png
Heeeeelp this doesn't work it just does words above it isn't there supposed to be a pic up theeere...?

173.219.129.75 (talk) 18:09, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Adding an image is a two-step process: first upload it, then use it in on a page. It looks like you skipped directly to step two without uploading the file. You will need an account, either on Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, to upload files.
If this is for Draft:The Quiet Year (board game), then the larger problem is that the draft cites no sources. Independent, in-depth, reliable, secondary sources are the foundation of any article. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Board and table games for topic-specific guidance and Wikipedia:Your first article for general instructions. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:17, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

18:29:06, 4 April 2018 review of submission by GaryS73

I am a new user to Wikipedia, am only trying to make an addition to an existing page, Covenant Aviation Security. I do not plan on any long term creative or editing activity and just want to accomplish this simple add, later learning small tasks as needed. can you help? thanks. GaryS73 GaryS73 (talk) 18:29, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi GaryS73 - You should be able to edit Covenant Aviation Security; and from your editing history, it looks like you already have done in the past. I'm not sure what the issue is, although it looks like you've created a sandbox, that was rejected. The issue is that as much as you are allowed to put information in a sandbox, the article was placed for review, and denied (Mainly because we already have an article on the subject). The issue is that the information provided was also not in a tone suitable for an encyclopedia.
All additions to any page need to be from a Neutral Point of View. If you need any more help, let me know on my talk page Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 11:06, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm not sure why the article was declined. She has many publications and many other UCI political scientists with similar accolades are published on this website.

Mchllgrdnr (talk) 01:31, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mchllgrdnr the current draft at Draft:Claire Jean Kim has not been reviewed yet. The decline message on your talk page relates to a previous draft that was actually deleted back in December 2017 because it contained material copied from elsewhere. While you wait for a review you could take a look at the notability guideline for academics and edit the draft accordingly if the subject qualifies. Hello Articles for creation Help desk, thank you for your help.

I am requesting advice about my draft page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:SeneGence_International,_Inc.

I have previously submitted it and it was not considered notable. But, looking at other pages approved during that time, they seem less notable and to have less reach. Is it possible to receive some other feedback? I realise that I have done quite a few citations for the founder's published book, but I have about 80 other references.

Thank you so much for your time!

What does "no blue links" mean?

84.73.9.156 (talk) 12:56, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, IP user. By "Blue Link", I'd assume the moderator meant Wikilinks. Basically, the draft currently has no active links to other pages on Wikipedia. I'm not sure what is really meant by this, as there are Wikilinks in the fields, and the template is similar to other templates in my opinion such as Template:AMD Ryzen Mobile. I have submitted and accepted the template, as it seems ok to me. Where would this Template be used? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:05, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have several Template:AMD templates in the queue for re-review that have been similarly rejected. The edit history attributed from the beginning that this was content copied from the original pages, so they not only conform to the current AMD template style, but also to what they would replace. They have been created so that the tables can be shared with other pages where there is duplication or they are simply still missing. 84.73.9.156 (talk) 14:36, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This first time i am creating a new topic.... and i genuinely believe that this topic must be there is wikipedia as Andaman Sheekha is one of the prominent newspaper of Andaman, India. I am new so do not know much rules.... anyone..any senior editor can google and check..how many answer come out when you type Andaman sheekha, Andaman in google............. and hence this topic is need of the hour......... i need help

Narcondum (talk) 13:49, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Narcondum. The reviewer comments on the draft are not especially helpful. For the draft to be published, it needs to persuade the reviewer that Andaman Sheekha meets the notability criteria for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The way to do that is to cite multiple, independent, reliable sources. Referencing for beginners explains how to cite sources. Saying that there are many Google hits is not enough. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:20, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
