Q on reference source language

07:53:55, 14 November 2017 review of submission by FriendlyB

Dear Thereodislong,

thank you for reviewing the draft "Dr. Petry Textile Auxiliaries".

For the sources, I cited independent sources, such as - http://www.genios.de/fachzeitschriften/artikel/MTB/20080617/umweltschutz-und-nachhaltigkeit-in-/060817061.html - https://www.biooekonomie-bw.de/de/fachbeitrag/aktuell/insektenchitin-macht-textilherstellung-nachhaltiger/

In order to have more evidence, I added information from further independent sources and references: - https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/companies/6311207Z:GR-textilchemie-dr-petry-gmbh - https://www.bluesign.com/industry/chemical-suppliers/references/textilchemie-dr-petry

Thank you in advance for re-reviewing.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your assistance with Draft:InnoCare. I have included {{connected contributor}} and noted it on your user page that I work for that company. They're not paying me to create this page, I just think it would cool to have a Wikipedia page. Let me know if there's anything else you can suggest to improve my draft. I appreciate your help!

I added more 3rd party sources that are verifiable and are independent, professional sources (not personal blogs or sites). I now have 15 citations.

Please let me know what else you think is required to have it accepted?

Hi there, thank very much for your care and consideration to to help build this page. I can understand why the review was rejected, as i hadn't cited enough sources on the first draft. I was wondering if you'd mind having a read over the latest draft and checking if it is better now thank you. SP

Dear Theroadislong

Hope you are fine and doing good.

I am requesting for a review again as the major comment for rejection/decline of this article was its Reference section or having less references. Now, the draft has been updated, and more than 20 solid references have been employed, with more historical details, and best possible bibliographic support in the light of the available literature. This single page article is now having over 25 appropriate references, and are strengthened with new data.

Your anticipation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Sincere Regards

Dear Theroadislong

Thank you very much for your prompt response.

The objected references (facebook) has been udpated with the departmental URLS (links to the webpages). I think, these were the most up to dated and regularly updating references. Moreover, the last paragraph was deleted, because the book describing the paragraph and the mentioned material is in press (which is written by Dr. Ikram), and once the book got published, the three to four lines paragraph will be inserted again.

I do hope, that the draft will get approved now and will get online, as after coming across other such articles, this one seems to be far better than those.

Your prompt and positive anticipation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation

Sincere Regards

The submission's referencing was improved as advised, and I added a few more. More information on his teachings and publications were added. The page exists in 3 other Wikipedia: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Russell https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Russell https://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Russell

In-depth coverage

I added RPG Site. Is that a reliable source?

Hi Theroadislong! I have recently uploaded a draft of the article "Admitad" here and you have declined it. Could you kindly explain what can I do to make it right? Is it possible to work with you as my mentor on the draft? Or, maybe, you can help with writing, could you kindly tell me what is the best option? admitad is a global company, it already helps over 630,000 people worldwide. I believe, that it needs to be on Wikipedia.

Images/Imágenes

Hi! As Images/Imágenes stated I am being paid to edit this page, but I am also working on this program as it is a work in progress. It was on the aire for over 30 years and pulled off in 2011. We are currently working on starting the project again but as this program began in the 70's there is not a large online presence. Is there anyway this page could be published for now, so we can show people that Images/Imágenes is coming back? Thanks, Alice

I have a lot of information from the Executive Producer but since none of it is available online, I cannot reference it. For example: (None of this is available online) Mission Images/Imágenes is a multi- Emmy award-winning television program series that creates, chronicles, and promotes the varied rich diverse history, culture, and life experiences of Hispanic/Latino communities in the state of New Jersey and the nation. Brief Organizational History For 46 years, the Images/Imágenes television series provided a voice and platform for New Jersey's diverse Latino population. The program series is known as the longest-running Latino community program in the history of PBS. Over the decades, the Emmy award winning series featured thought provoking round table discussions, interviews, profiles, documentaries and special topic episodes on the most prevalent issues pertaining to and for the Hispanic/Latino populations – the fastest growing demographic in New Jersey. Program topics ranged from lifestyles, business, education, legal matters, community affairs, pop culture/entertainment, the arts, sports and the health and sciences. Images/Imagenes was launched on January 6, 1972 than titled “Mi Casa Su Casa” on NJPTV hosted by producer, Diego Castellanos. The program made history as the first Latino television series on Public Television in New Jersey to air across the Garden State and surged as the nation’s number one market in New York and the number 4 market in Philadelphia. Since then the series is recognized as a resource for top Latino stories, both at local, as well as the national level. Award Winning Producer William Sánchez is the Producer/Director of Images/Imágenes since 1972, and is currently revitalizing a new series as its producer/director at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He produced the series with the PBS NJ Television Network until the station was dissolved by the state on June 30, 2011. Within the first ten years Images/Imágenes became the leading contributor of programs for the PBS Series Presente hosted by Rita Moreno. Images/Imágenes competed with mainstream networks and was selected over ABC World News Tonight at the National Unity Awards in St. Louis. Then it rose to the top of the Latino Broadcasting Media when it was highlighted at the San Antonio Film Festival in the 1980s as a must see series on Latin Music alongside the films “LA BAMBA” and “STAND AND DELIVER.” National Recognition

For over 40 years, Images/Imágenes under the leadership of producer William Sanchez the television industry has recognized the series with four Emmys and nominated for twenty by National PBS. The series is distinguished having received numerous national acclaims from the White House, Congress, National PBS, the National Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and three New Jersey Governors. The series represented PBS in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It was distributed by the Department of Defense and with audiences including American military bases around the world. It was also national under the Latino Consortium’s series “PRESENTE” with host Rita Moreno. Now under the banner of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Images/Imagenes’ legacy continues for public viewing at the United States Library of Congress. Signature Shows There are a number of evergreen programs that were signature shows for the series and are timeless works of history and culture. A. DRAFT:Summation Formula List Decline

Ok, I took your advice and added my material back onto the wiki page on summation. You watch how long it takes D Lazarus to delete it and post his own rambling notes. His notes don't transition well for sentence-to-sentence; paragraph-to-paragraph, nor make any sense; Some of what he posts really is not related to closed form summation. Roger

Dixon Algebra submission.

I have followed your instructions and I think I have successfully updated the references to conform to wiki practices.

Historical notes: • I begsn working on this topic some 40 years ago; • Periodically the algebra has cropped up in the works of others; • Most of this activity has occurred in the last 8 years; • John Baez was the first to call the algebra the Dixon algebra; • This became somewhat solidified when the Quanta Mag and Wired articles appeared; • I recently saw a blog in which the blog's author said there is no wikipedia page for the Dixon algebra yet; • So I decided to start one.

FYI: Ashley has been adding photos to Commons and then inserting those photos into various articles in preparation for her intention to create an article about her grandfather, Virgil Williams. I left a note on her Talk to declare paid or COI if she proceeds with the attempt. (Evidence for intention is creation and then deletion of a draft in her Sandbox.) The quail hunting photo you deleted was there because Virgil owns the land that was name-mentioned in the image caption. David notMD (talk)

Hi Theroadislong, thanks for reviewing my page!

I saw your comment on my draft page 900 wine, I'm inserting the Italian wine brand on the market. can you possibly and kindly advise me of the changes that can better comply with the policies of wikipedia? Thanks a lot!

Hi, my article has sources of significant credibility and follows all guidelines as required. I do not see why a source such as the Google Knowledge Panel and Spotify's official website would circumvent the guideline of non-acceptable blogs, social media, etc.

Max.Inunkapasiti (talk) 12:34, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Max.Inunkapasiti The references are primary or mere listings, Wikipedia only summarises what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. Theroadislong (talk) 12:38, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Laurie Smith (designer)

You recently declined my submission Draft:Laurie Smith (designer) solely because IMDb was used as a source. That is not the only source in the article...72.160.24.204 (talk) 12:41, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't decline it because IMDb was the 'only" source. Her own website and other primary sources are also not sufficient to establish notability, we require in-depth significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in reliable sources.
Your comment when declining the submission leads me to believe otherwise. The StyleBlueprint article and the TLC videos cited constitute significant coverage from reliable sources, as does her appearance at the National Book Festival, the video of which is on the Library of Congress's own website.72.160.24.204 (talk) 21:33, 16 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Niharika Kohli, a product manager for the growth team, announced that work is underway in implementing improvements to New Page Patrol as part of the 2019 Community Wishlist and suggests all who are interested watch the project page on meta. Two requested improvements have already been completed. These are:

  • Allow filtering by no citations in page curation
  • Not having CSD and PRODs automatically marked as reviewed, reflecting current consensus among reviewers and current Twinkle functionality.
Reliable Sources for NPP

Rosguill has been compiling a list of reliable sources across countries and industries that can be used by new page patrollers to help judge whether an article topic is notable or not. At this point further discussion is needed about if and how this list should be used. Please consider joining the discussion about how this potentially valuable resource should be developed and used.

Palestinian Animal League

What makes you say it reads like an advertisement? There is no real negative coverage about them online or in academia, because, whilst they are noteworthy, the people who are interested in them are people who are supportive of them, because they are not a large enough group for people to come after them, as would be with for example, a mainstream political party.

So, what can be done to get this article published? Thanks for helping. Innovative Username (talk) 15:37, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not suggesting we should add negative coverage! We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. 14 of your references are to their own website, we have very little interest in what they have to say about themselves, only what others have reported. Theroadislong (talk) 15:45, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I guess that means I'll consider deleting and abandoning the article then. There's no way I can find sources for the nature of their activities other than them. Really strange, as that means you basically can't write an article on anything but large political groups! Innovative Username (talk) 15:49, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:GNG if there are no independent sources then we don't have an article. Theroadislong (talk) 15:56, 18 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theroadislong. As one of the most active AfC reviewers (I think, as I see you working), could you look at and review Draft:Elena Matei? Kauchis The website clearly states at the bottom of the page "Copyright © 2018 | All Rights Reserved by MTV Channel (PVT) LTD." So you do not own the copyright even though you may have written it. The text however is entirely unsuited to an encyclopedia article, so will need to be re-written in any case using independent reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 18:49, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!I want to edit the page. Add valid religious information. Please remove the protection. Erssayman (talk) 16:52, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Erssayman I am not an admin. Have you tried Religious interpretations of the Big Bang theory. Theroadislong (talk) 18:04, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Erssayman and Theroadislong: There is no such thing as VALID religious information when it comes to the Big Bang. Religion is a a belief system and independent of any valid information. Religion does not depend on facts (information) but on faith. Facts (information) that invalidates belief, results only in entrenchment of the believer into his belief.Oldperson (talk) 18:34, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

thank you. I do not think you studied religious books. Such as the Koran which speaks 1000 Phrase about science. Erssayman (talk) 19:40, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bare URL's hopefully fixed with reFill - please advise!

Dear Theroadislong

I've fixed bare URLs with the reFill on the page Draft:Anita_Andreis, as you suggested. Thank you so much!! That saved me a lot of time!

I need your help still!

  • I wonder if the links are now ok, or should I add dates (on a refill page it says not to add them) on those citations which didn't retrieve it automatically? If yes. Which date? The original date of an article or today when I retrieved it?
  • Since the majority of links are in Croatian language and now they have their original headlines, should I add an English translation with the citation to ease a verification process?
  • Some articles are also available in Print - Newspaper Article, but I wanted to avoid using those since I have no idea how to prove them? To upload scans or? It sounded too complicated so I stuck to internet sources mainly, although some internet articles were also published in print, so that was most convenient to do.

Thank you so much!

I hope you'll reply soon!

I have re edited for your comment. could you please take a look and give me some feed back thanks````

removed not relevant info,

i have been working hard for the article and asking for help how to make it relevant. Now that you have deleted it, I dont know if I am supposed to keep working on it to improve and get in-depth coverage or leave and work on something new. Also the article is still in draft. am i suppose to move it somewhere? I am sorry but I am learning slowly https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:The_Minds_Journal

The draft Draft:The Minds Journal has not been deleted, only declined, you are encouraged to edit further to improve it and re-submit. Theroadislong (talk) 11:32, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Update

Hi, Theroadislong -- thanks for your comment. I have updated the situation with the external links. Sorry for the mistake! Please let me know if anything else needs changing. Thanks!

Hello

Hello,

I recently added stuff to my page to make it look a bit better.

Is there any chance you could help by adding my contributions to the "contributions" tab I have added, as I don't know how to do it.

Thank you

Hi Theroadislong,

Can I copy edit in my Sandbox without the risk of committing errors or be accused of disruptive editing?

Rejected article confused

Hi there, I'm confused. Can you please tell me what the difference between my article about Raasay House and this article that has been accepted is!?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Raasay_Distillery

Thanks

Carol

Your draft is poorly sourced please read WP:REFB and is stuffed full of promotional trumpery…“Raasay House offers a range of outdoor activities including coasteering, kayaking and sailing as well as RIB boat trips.” “21 guest bedrooms ranging from huge deluxe rooms to dormitory beds” “Raasay House is excellently appointed with the bar,” is all totally unacceptable content. Theroadislong (talk) 21:36, 26 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for the swift review of my article. Best, K

PyCM

Hi

I think Draft:PyCM is good enough to be accepted. This article provides some reliable references like Journal of open source software and Github (the most popular community of software developers) and etc. In comparison with other accepted open-source software articles like Aika_(software), Renjin , UIMA , BigDL, Cantera_(software) that most of them are self-cited. And also this library with more than 640 stars, 200 dependant codes and 1000 installs per week, is more popular than currently available articles on English Wikipedia like ELKI, Cantera_(software), OpenNN. Any suggestion is gratefully welcomed to improve this draft.

Thank you for your consideration.

Where is the page I want to work on that I left in my sandbox?

I left a page in my sandbox that needed corrections or I submitted it and it was rejected, but I can no longer find it. I put a lot of time and work into it and would like to make the necessary correction to get it published. Where can I find it? Thanks.Billgroll (talk) 00:11, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Billgroll It appears to have been deleted as an abandoned draft, by User:Sphilbrick I declined it at AFC because it had no sources. If there is to be an article on Howard B. Stroud Sr then you will need to demonstrate notability, you need to provide references to articles written about him in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books, etc. Theroadislong (talk) 06:34, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Billgroll, See WP:REFUND/G13 if you want it back. S Philbrick(Talk) 12:07, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Here.

Why did you come to my talk page? I don't even know you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Numberblock99 (talkcontribs) 00:15, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Numberblock99 You made a test page with a couple of words on it and submitted it for article review, it wasn't an article so I declined it. You then vandalised a page of mine, this was reverted by another editor. Theroadislong (talk) 06:38, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

29 May 2019 Submission of Margot Friedlander by MinatoAri

Hi Theroadislong!

I saw that you had rejected my article submission. The article I was working on was a translation of the German article of the same name, and I do not have any references to add to the article. Is it ok to publish, or will it just not be allowed on the site?

Thank you, MinatoAri

Your draft Draft:Margot Friedlander has insufficient sources at the moment, all content should be sourced, the English Wikipedia is slightly more strict on this than other countries. I am sure that sources exist, they do not have to be in English either. Theroadislong (talk) 08:32, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Spacesldie

Hi Theroadislong,

I have just received your message regarding Spaceslide article. My intention was to message you before I submitted this, as is the Wikipedia best practice.

This article is a factual account of Spaceslide, a company owned by Home Decor. There is no advertising here whatsoever. I'd like to point you towards the B&Q page, which this is modelled off, how does this differ? What else would you require to accept this page?

We have been creating this page from a non-advertising background for some time now, we are a little stuck as to how we are supposed to proceed, as this page does not differ from the thousands of other factual records of businesses that exist on Wikipedia.

Regards, Tom — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agrove11 (talkcontribs) 16:33, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agrove11 Firstly Wikipedia accounts are strictly for single person use, who is "we"? Notability is judged by looking at the depth of coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources, we have no interest in what the company says about itself on it’s own website. The B&Q refers to a broad range of independent reliable sources whereas your draft does not. Theroadislong (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theroadislong - Thank you for reviewing Draft: Hily (app). Can you offer feedback as to which sections in the draft need reworking to meet neutrality guidelines? E-Stylus (talk) 20:28, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well for a start terms like "Leveraging his experience, Pronin created Hily as a secure platform aimed at improving the way people connect" and "Hily maintains a safe environment through prioritizing user safety and platform security" are over the top promotional. Theroadislong (talk) 21:00, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Noted. I've worked on removing the promotional language. If possible, can you take a look to see if further revision is needed? Thanks. E-Stylus (talk) 22:43, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Theroadislong - Just following up on your feedback regarding the draft's tone revisions. The content refers to independent, reliable, published sources to meet verifiability guidelines and establish notability. Thanks. E-Stylus (talk) 13:43, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like your draft has been deleted, in more than ten years of editing here I can recall hardly any successful autobiographies. If you are notable be patient, someone is bound to create an article about you. Theroadislong (talk) 21:28, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You need to show that he passes the Wikipedia:Notability guidelines, you need to find multiple in-depth coverage of him in reliable independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 19:57, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User ID: Nmalguri Page Title : Prof Mahesh Tandon

Dear Sir,

I have created a page for Prof Mahesh Tandon, who is one of the greatest Structural Engineer of India. He has published so many articles and has so received so much recognition and awards and still his page has been declined. I have put several independent sources (link to websites) where his accomplishments are mentioned.

Please let me know where I went wrong which has lead to decline in the request of page.

Please help.

Thanks for your review, follow up

Dear reviewer,

Thanks for the input/work that you provide to the users of Wikipedia.

I understand that your rejection of the "Scotching" contribution was due to the lack of information that was provided / lack of resources and data on the subject.

I would appreciate if you could guide me further in order to know which elements (lenght, depth, etc) I should take into consideration for my submission to be accepted.

This being a new form of art that i am a fan of, I would like to make sure that it has its own definition and description as it is normally confused with other forms of tape work.

Best regards,

Fernanda
