Hello! I didn't see a way to message you privately, but I would like to do business with you regarding a Wikipedia page for a producer under Future's label; I saw you were one of the recent contributors. Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit of yours to the page Chris Brown has an edit summary that appears to be inaccurate or inappropriate. The summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. The claim that he is a convicted felon is true and sourced. It is not "vandalism," and thus removing it should not be labeled as "Removed vandalism" as you did in this edit. DannyS712 (talk) 19:41, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Apologies for not elaborating on my removal of your edit. Your source is correct, however lead ins are there to state the occupation(s) of said person (in this case, Chris Brown), and therefore the lead is NOT designated for legal histories or personal issues. There is most likely a section in the article for that. If we edited Chris Brown's page like that, then questions would arise as to why other artists' (who have been convicted of felonies) pages do not have the same lead in. It could come across as biased. AshMusique (talk) 21:00, 16 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

I found a source that says he was 56. source Until it can be verified, I think his age should be left out. Snickers2686 (talk) 15:56, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ash, can you add these [1] [2] as references for trance music (that sort of synth you'd hear in mid-noughties Euro-rave) and maybe? snap music on the page please as I don't know how. 2A02:C7F:3846:4500:113:65CC:4948:2EDB (talk) 06:57, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my bad citations!

Hello! I saw that you reverted two of my edits( one on Changes by Justin Bieber and last one on Funeral, Lil Wayne) and I want to, firstly, thank you for being polite when you mention my wrongdoings. It makes me improve more and that's what I'm on Wikipedia for. I really want to edit correctly and I definitely learn from my mistakes, but my edit on the Changes album was wrong and I understand that. I get confused at times what "date method" to use, but I understand now that I need to look at what others have been using and adapt to that. Thank you again for your help and politeness, I appreciate the help a lot and sorry for my wrongdoings, I do my best to improve my work here. Why revert? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jit.cuet (talkcontribs) 11:50, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Jit.cuet: Hi, because, as I briefly stated in my edit summary, it was poorly written and repeating some information already in article. But I respect the fact that you're still a relatively new user, as am I too, and we all learn at a different pace.

Also, please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Feeling Myself (Nicki Minaj song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SZA (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:20, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Murder Most Foul (song)

Hey AshMusique. I had this article watchlisted from when I added a couple of peaks to it the other day, and noticed you added the US Digital Song Sales chart after. Another user has just changed the US Digital Song Sales peak from 8 to 1 in the mistaken belief that Billboard and other news sources are talking about the song topping that chart, when they are actually talking about Dylan topping the Rock Digital Song Sales chart (which is not the Rock Songs chart, but rather the chart that only measures digital sales of rock songs). Could you maybe change this back and add the Rock Digital Song Sales as the actual chart Dylan topped when you're next online? The user who added the information frequents the page, and he and I have had our differences, especially of late, so I would like to avoid editing articles he has. Thanks. Twinkle

Hi, I noticed your request for rollback permissions and took a look at your contributions. It doesn't appear that you've tried using WP:TWINKLE so I wanted to make you aware of that tool (whether you get rollback or not). Twinkle adds an extremely useful menu to your top bar, allowing you to quickly roll back multiple edits and then warn the user, nominate pages for protection, report editors for vandalism, complete AFD and PROD nominations, welcome new editors, and more. Happy editing! Schazjmd (talk) 15:57, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi AshMusique, my apologies for the removal of your edit. There was an edit conflict, and I had to copy and paste my contribution as it would have been lost. It was just bad timing. Isaacsorry (talk) 13:20, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Isaacsorry, oh okay, I understand. My apologies, as well, I didn't realize that. I'm not sure how long you were working on that edit, but if, in future, if you don't mind me advising you – if you edit for longer than, say 10, 15 minutes, add the in use template. Thank you for expanding the article with all the useful info. AshMusique (talk) 13:29, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Roman Holiday

Hi, I was wondering which of the citations refers to the song as Hindi hip-hop because I've been unable to find it. The song is in English after all, not Hindi, and it doesn't seem to have any Indian influence, let alone a specifically Hindi one. Morinae (talk) 08:53, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Morinae, my bad, the "Hindi" reference is actually sourced right after that first sentence, in this citation: https://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music-arts/nicki-minaj-hip-hop-radical-dance-pop-queen-article-1.1054504 – which includes three paragraphs in relation to the song, stating: "Take the opening cut, "Roman Holiday." When Minaj previewed this ditty on the Grammys back in February, her zany (some said blasphemous) theatrics obscured the originality of both the beat and of Minaj's rapping attack. On the disk, you can bask in her fitful, stuttering style — a manic cadence informed by its own grace. In the space of one track, Minaj mixes pitches and flows to create as much rhythmic surprise as a top comic.
Using the persona of Roman Zolanski — the most amped-up gay man imaginable — Minaj unleashes a great spew of profane humor. She matches that to vocal and percussive rhythms that meld a Trinidadian patois, a New York attitude and a Hindi-hip-hop bounce. Such a pan-cultural swirl shoots Missy Elliot's brand of hip-hop surreality to the moon." AshMusique (talk) 10:32, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the clarification. But would it be accurate to call it a Hindi hip-hop song? All the article says is she molds various influences with "a Hindi hip-hop bounce". Morinae (talk) 10:43, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Morinae, well yes, the "influences" refer to her vocals and I guess, cadence, on the song, and her patois accent, as well as of course her attitude, whereas " Hindi hip-hop bounce" is exclusively referred to as the song's beat (basically saying she layers all those vocals over the beat), which is how the genre is classified in that article. That's how I see it. But you're welcome to start a discussion on the song's talk page if you wish, and if you still find you disagree. AshMusique (talk) 11:05, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
