Air India Express Flight 812 was a scheduled passenger service from Dubai to Mangalore, which, at around 06:30 IST on 22 May 2010,[1][4] overshot the runway on landing, fell over a cliff, and caught fire, spreading wreckage across the surrounding hillside.[4][5][6] Of the 160 passengers and six crew members on board, only eight passengers survived.[3][7][8][9] 72.71.194.232 (talk) 01:15, 22 November 2017 (UTC)

Air India Express Flight 812 (Mangalore Crash)
Is there a reason that the Air India Express Flight 812 crash in Mangalore hasn't been discussed in the 'Accidents and incidents' section? --Norcaes (talk) 08:34, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- Probably because it is a different airline and it is included in the Air India Express page. MilborneOne (talk) 18:19, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
- I see. I was wondering if it might be appropriate to add a paragraph about the crash. Considering Air India Express is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, it does have implications for its safety record -- also keeping in mind that the media does tend to conflate the two, e.g. in this Guardian article. --Norcaes (talk) 11:44, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
Please update 94 destination in the main description
Hello
I see that 94 destinations of Air India is being mentioned in the template and down at the destination section. but it is mistakenly entered at 90 in the main description.
Could anyone please update it? Thanks in advance.

Change "In 2000–01, attempts were made to privatize Air India and from 2006 onwards, it suffered losses after its merger with Indian Airlines." to In 2000–01, attempts were made to privatize Air India and from 2006 onwards." only.
Reason: The next line is wrong as Air India Ltd was at a loss of Rs. 541 Crore and Indian Airlines was at a loss of around Rs. 231 crore. To say "it suffered losses after its merger with India Airlines" is factually wrong, when the actual position was Air India Ltd. was double the loss than Indian Airlines. Only reason both company suffered is because of bulk ordering of planes even though their books did not support such a purchase. Indian Airlines was market leader before merger in Domestic Sector. Please change $840 to $180,000 in the "As Tata Air Services" section
″In its first year of operation, the airline flew 160,000 miles (260,000 km), carrying 155 passengers and 9.72 tonnes (10.71 tons) of mail and made a profit of ₹60,000 (US$840).″
₹60,000 in 2020 is about $840 but ₹60,000 in 1932 was approximately $160,000. The Rupee back then was pegged to the Pound @ 1 GBP = 13.33 INR. The USD to INR exchange rate in 1932 was ~ 1 USD = 0.2 GBP (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tables_of_historical_exchange_rates_to_the_United_States_dollar).
So ₹60,000 in 1932 would be 60,000 ÷ 13.33 x 0.2 = $159,960 which we can round off to $160,000.
