This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Darwinbish (talk | contribs) at 20:29, 28 December 2020 (→‎And I have to say: +1). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Steve Lemme and Kevin Heffernan (actor) each meet WP:NACTOR with "significant roles in multiple notable films". They've got starring roles in half a dozen of those, and a television series, each with non-trivial articles here. --GRuban (talk) 17:10, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The cases for Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske are weaker, but the Lemme and Heffernan ones are so clear that I'm reverting your redirects here as well for good measure. The fact that actors, especially comedy actors, are mostly known as part of a group, is not a reason for them not to have individual articles, see Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Cheech & Chong etc. --GRuban (talk) 17:21, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose you'll be providing ample sourcing for them then, right GRuban? Praxidicae (talk) 17:25, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh. "Work?!?" I guess I can provide sufficient sourcing. The articles have been around for years, give me a few weeks. --GRuban (talk) 17:29, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Precisely why I opted to redirect them to an article that can more than adequately cover any of their notable roles (rather than the dozen unnamed characters that aren't sourced to anything) instead of letting an unsourced BLP rot in mainspace. Praxidicae (talk) 17:32, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense. If they're not mostly sourced in a few weeks, you can re-redirect, and I won't whinge. But I think I can mostly source them. --GRuban (talk) 17:34, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Kevin Heffernan (actor) mostly sourced, not ideally (honestly, I'm not a fan, never seen any of his or any other group members' films or shows), but hopefully you'll agree that while a sentence or two may well need more references, the article as a whole is no longer in danger of unsourced BLP deletion? --GRuban (talk) 15:28, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Sefa (Musician)

Hi Praxidicae, I hope you are well!

I'm reaching out to you regarding the recently deleted Sefa (musician) article. I see that you looked at some of my previous edits and wrote me a message earlier this year about disclosing my paid relationship to Sefa - sorry I missed that! Now that I've done that, could you please let me know what can be done to recover this article and fix it up so that it is up to the standards? I understand you aren't an admin and can't bring this page back, but perhaps you could point me in the direction of someone who could, after the changes are made of course?

Hope to hear from you, thanks so much :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hardcontributor (talkcontribs) 16:57, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hardcontributor, I looked at the article, and I don't see what can be saved. The only possibly acceptable secondary source is this, and even that is questionable, given that the website clearly says it collaborates with the record labels it comments on. Sorry. You REALLY need to look at WP:RS. Drmies (talk) 17:21, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Danny Gonzalez

Explain why you moved Danny Gonzalez to Draft:Danny Gonzalez with reason "Undersourced" when article in its current form clearly (at least IMHO) meets WP:Reliable sources minimum for WP:NOTABILITY. It did not meet guidelines two months ago but has a lot more sources added - please recheck and if you disagree that the 23 references still count as "Undersourced" , explain why by pointing out at least 1/2 the sources. Please use Draft talk:Danny Gonzalez.

Following WP:Talk page guidelines I am commenting on your talk page. You can remove if you add your comments to Draft talk:Danny Gonzalez, where we can better discuss.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lefton4ya (talkcontribs)

Re Jeannette Magel

I stumbled upon the Jeanette Magel hoax report on the Help Desk the other day, and am wondering if WP are planning to let the matter drop and sweep it under the proverbial rug. In the HD discussion, it appeared that the hoax was regarded as a serious breach of trust and the rules of Wikipedia. Why does it seem that nothing has happened, as the editor is still editing, while ignoring their talk page?--Quisqualis (talk) 19:53, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quisqualis that's a good question. I think they should be blocked, but I'm just a lowly editor. GRINCHIDICAE🎄 19:55, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you hold a bias

I’m not sure why you’re the first person to always revert any edits done on the article I’ve been working on? I would like to know why you believe any of the sources I’ve listed to be “Black hat SEO” and why you are accusing me of conflict of interest. Notablepeopleandplaces (talk) 16:56, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I hold a bias against spam and the proliferation of bad (and especially deceptive, paid for sources.) Yeah. You should've listened to what I said when I kindly moved it to draft the first time, but alas, you failed to read the requirements so now it's at AFD. Combative editors

Regarding this: Thanks for the update on them being blocked. When it comes to new editors who are headed in the direction of a block, I try to carry lots of WP:AGF in one hand but usually have a little WP:ROPE in the other, inviting them to reach out to whichever hand they choose. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 20:03, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Young legislative aides

Without commenting on the rest of the mess here, I don't find having young Page (assistance occupation)#Legislative pages incredulous. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 20:36, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the content of my arguments. He himself says that from the age of 14-18, he was effectively "held hostage" by DCYF and was not allowed to speak to anyone or attend school. He also lived in Connecticut, Nebraska and Florida, so I'm not sure how one could be a legislative aide while not attending school, living in another state and not being allowed to "speak to anyone", not to mention the other contradictions that I've repeatedly pointed out. Or am I really expected to believe a delinquent minor without a high school education was making (inflation adjusted) $21/hr in state Government at the age of 14? Please keep any conversation about this on that page. Thanks. GRINCHIDICAE🎄 20:39, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You are right, I didn't read closely enough, the sum total adds up to a bunch of, well, I'm not sure what the polite term is but it doesn't belong here. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 22:05, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit filter

I saw the SPI you just opened. I'm thinking it's time to add an edit filter for new accounts who add a certain YouTube link I put in HTML comments. Or heck, just have the 5 letters before "Music" trigger the filter if it's a new account. I know you can't make edit filters but you can see those I can't. Based on past history, does a filter like this sound like a good idea? davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 22:49, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aman Singh Thind

Hello, dear colleague, I can forgive you for removing the removal tags from the articles of Aman Singh Thind. He is a notable businessman from the UK, and all the sources are credible. Draft:Godfrey (artist)

Hi Praxidicae,

Thanks for looking over the article You mentioned that "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources", however all the sources cited are reputable and well known music blog sites within the music community. The Artist has nothing to do with the creation/production of these articles/materials, they are completely independent from the artist.

Regarding "This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia", I have studied and cross referenced dozens of approved wiki articles on prominent artists on wikipedia and find my article worded no different than these. I ask that you please elaborate on which parts you feel are not neutral. Again, my article appears to fall very inline with scores of other artist wiki entries. Please advise.

Thank you, I appreciate you. --2pennyworth (talk) 21:12, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Heya! Thanks for looking at my draft (draft:spidi) and for your feedback. I worked with some of the folks from the IRC help channel tonight and fixed things (much newbie stupidity on my part... sorry). I wondered if you could take another look to see if there's anything you would suggest that could make it better? =) Naturally it is a work in progress, but if there's any improvements you think I could make before I resubmit it, I would be very grateful to hear them! Thanks! Anfornum (talk) 00:49, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

After Effects Alternatives

Hi Praxidicae,

Any chance you could let me know why you have taken Cavalry off the After Effects alternatives list a couple of times?

Thanks!

Because it's link spam. GRINCHIDICAE🎄 15:14, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, does it need to be a link to a wikipedia page then? Cavalry is a 100% credible alternative to after effects.

Speedy Deletion for Natalis Rubero

Hello,

What was your reason for speedy deletion of the article Natalis Rubero?

As far as I’m concerned, it is written from a neutral point of view, is verifiable, does not contain any spam nor violates copyright law.

Furthermore, it is not written any different from the plethora of public figure articles that exist on Wikipedia.

Looking forward to your response. Aybenditorecords (talk) 09:56, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
