This article alludes to a libel suit against Saturday Night magazine, but there is no reference to the actual magazine or the content that triggered the suit. Isabel Vincent's original article should be a source at least, not just reports of his legal victory.

Claims of him being the youngest ever graduate of the York MBA program were cited by a Canadian Encyclopedia article, which, in turn, cites the wikipedia page. Removed as considered a poor citation. Barkman (talk) 16:02, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

Original research

While Kielburger is quite probably notable enough for an article (assuming the claims in the article are true) it looks like he himself has created the article and has, not unreasonably for someone perhaps unfamiliar with Wikipedia, made claims that are original research and thus which fail verifiability. Nobel Peace Prize nomination

Being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize is an honor, but it is not official or even prestigious. Any national legislator or about a third of the university professors in the world can make a nomination, and there have been as many as 140 some years. Nominators are requested to keep their nominations secret, so it's only those wishing publicity who make announcements, and more often it is impossible to verify. I see no reason to keep it. Under education section, there is no mention of Kielburger's attendance at U of T, or any honourary degrees he has received from that institution. Edit request:

Kielburger is set to receive an honorary degree at the University of Toronto convocation ceremonies in Spring 2011 in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to society along with other outstanding scholars, innovative thinkers, humanitarians, dedicated public servants and leading philanthropists. President David Naylor of the university said “These extraordinary people ─ public servants, social activists, philanthropists, researchers, teachers, writers, leaders - have asked difficult questions, offered new ways of looking at the world and made significant contributions to Canada and the world. They reflect the values and strengths of the University of Toronto and will be a tremendous inspiration to our graduating students.” Kielburger, who graduated from U of T in 2006, and his brother Marc will receive honorary doctor of laws degrees June 8 at 2 p.m.

How does a 12 year old start a business

The article is like an advertising piece. What I wrote IS REALLY JUST ASKING SOME QUESTIONS THAT PEOPLE CAN ASK OR CONTRIBUTE TO. I provide examples and thought out information, that missing in the discussion, and that totally ignored on this marketed biography.

Why is editor Ground Zero (possible MARKETER/ PUBLIC RELATIONS) person deleting a discussion Question on A talk page. ITS A talk page. Only a coward deletes information on a discussion page. Why is Ground Zero censoring information on a TALK / DISCUSSION PAGE

This is the information that was deleted by Ground Zero.

What they are doing is very good and its a good aim. But why do we need to play SHEEP to the story his parents created.

hHow can a 12 year old create a business on their own. there is no acknowledgment. Are we tp belive that a 12 year old did this all by himself. Craig Kielburger's PARENTS started the business, and the BUSINESS they assisted him in starting while he was in university was a SOCIAL BUSINESS for their son.

Cant we ask ourselves how does a 12 year old goes about starting a business all by himself. A non profit organization is a business whatever way you want to look at it. Marketer/Public Relations person Ground Zero should know this.

What the media and everybody since the beginning want to ignore is that it might of been him wanting to do something about a cause, but its his WEALTHY PARENTS that that provided the push and organized the trips, and thats how he got started. Sorry but 12 year olds dont organize MONEY AND DRIVES and go on trips to other countries to disperse the stuff on their own.

By the time he was in the middle of High school his parents probably already this bisiness/ organization already thought out.

Implications of always a business since high school:

He probably never worked at regular job elsewhere because he bad his own business to go to. Throughout university he had a job at his business that his parents helped to create. Why cant we allowed ourselves to see the story as it really happened.

Martin Luther King III

Hello,

A few weeks ago I added information about the Kielburgers' participation in Martin Luther King III's Realizing the Dream initiative. After adding it to MLK III's article, I added it to Marc Kielburger, where there was shorter and less informative language based upon a press release, but a comntributor Bilorv said it was too long – "undue weight" – and restored the previous version.[1] Since that was the accepted version, I put that here.

Now that version has been removed because it is based upon a press release.[2] It seems then that there is some disageement about what the editorial standards should be. I agree with Dialectric that press releases should not be used as sources when mainstream media outlets have covered the situation in greater detail. Given the very public backing of the National Football League and Major League Baseball teams, and the fact that Craig Kielburger was interviewed, it seems relevant here.2601:547:1200:B3E0:D172:9A48:F805:5E52 (talk) 01:56, 13 March 2024 (UTC)
