Shorten it!!

Hey this unsubstantiated information on Tipu against christian is not needed here. This article more looks like his and christian relation than on his biography. I would recommend to shorten "attitude towards christians" and stick to official and widely accepted biograpgy and dont use wikipedia as anti tippu christian propaganda. This all bag of lies was invented by your christian british masters to undermine him!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Untilwhen1 (talkcontribs) 03:23, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: File:Mangalorean Catholic wedding costumes.jpg

Hi Joyson, I do'nt have the e-mail id of Praveen Veigas, since I had requested permission for the image to news@daijiworld.com and have not co-ordinated with Praveen Veigas. A Mr. Melvyn Eugine of Daijiworld.com granted me the permission to use the image on Wiki, provided that credit would be given to daijiworld.com as well as its photographers (i.e. Praveen) in the article. Hey but why do you need his e-mail id?--Sanfy (talk)

Changes to Mangalore

Hey Joyson, thank you for your contributions to the Mangalore article. Unfortunately, I had to revert it. One of the reasons for this is that Mangalore is a Featured Article, and image changes generally happen after a consensus is reached on the talk page. Have a good day. Roman Catholic Brahmin surname

Hi Joyson, Caste is something that is derived from one's tribe or family. That is to say it is identifiable by one's surname. Being GSB myself I know plenty of Catholics who had retained their surnames (like Lobo-Prabhu). That is what I meant with my edit, which you undid with your comment: "What nonsense is this? My family is Bāmaṇ. Our surname is Fernandes"

If it is alright with you, can we change:

"Traditionally, they have refrained from inter-marriage with Catholics of other castes"

to

"They have maintained their community by refraining from inter-marriage with Catholics of other castes and by retaining their unconverted surname"

Thanks. Kasbee (talk) 22:29, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I meant no disrespect. But it would be nonsensical to state that those who claim Brahmanical descent also carry their ancestral surnames. Most Mangalorean Catholics and a large number of Goan Catholics are Brahmins, by descent. To my knowledge, Catholics at least in South Canara have only recently started reverting to their ancestral surnames, that is in the last 50 or so years. I myself have chosen to follow this trend and reverted to my ancestral surname last year. I simply didn't find it sensible to continue with a foreign surname. Still, it is only a tiny negligible percentage of Catholics who have chosen to do so. Many Bāmaṇs know their origins, but lack knowledge of their paik (ancestral) surnames. For example, notable Bāmaṇs include personalities with Lusitanian surnames, like Joachim Alva, Richard Crasta, Froilano de Mello, Michael Lobo, etc. Furthermore, the bit about Catholics retaining their ancestral surnames is not mentioned in the source provided as reference. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 06:19, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By retaining their ancestral surname they could distinguish themselves from the other Catholic groups. And so I put it in the point of avoiding inter-marriage. But this was based on my assumption that it was common for Catholics to retain their ancestral surname (and not an exception as you point out). You're correct, this was not in the source.

Fair Enough. Keep up the good work. Cheers. Kasbee (talk) 19:41, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The term "Retained" would imply that they still use their ancestral surnames as opposed to the Lusitanian ones, thus, further distinguishing them from the other Catholics. This is another reason why i was opposed to the statement.
Historically, it was true. The Bāmaṇs in the old South Canara district were all familiar with their ancestral surnames. Furthermore, they could even trace their ancestry to their respective villages in Goa that they originally hailed from. The following two works written by Fr. Angelus Francis Xavier Maffei in the 19th century both attest to this fact. If you are a fluent Konkani speaker, then the para under the "Exercise" section in the second link should make for a very interesting read.
However, my belief is that this changed in the post-independence era, due to the advent of modernization and the break down of the joint family structure. Last year during my visits to my relatives in South Canara, i would bring up the topic of ancestral surnames. Most of the old folks were well aware of their original surnames. Their children and grand-children, however, had no idea about such a thing. Good luck with your editing! Joyson Noel Holla at me! 08:30, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of March. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 50. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. I was about to log the non conversion of 'honored' by my script as a false negative, until I realised that it sits inside a blockquote template. Anout your post at User talk:ImperiumCaelestis

It is not right to transfer your rancour at User:IC onto me. The post I gave was civil and completely devoid of any personal attack on you. I had acknowledged that IC's behaviourwas wrong. My post was not about IC's behaviour or your response but to bring to light the image's probable antiquity. This statement was completely unwarranted :

I suggest that you read comments carefully next time, before commenting yourself.

If you would admonish others for not being civil, please be civil yourself. AshLin (talk) 04:51, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was not being rude, nor did i make any personal attacks. A personal attack would be the following:

Read the comments carefully before commenting! Do you get that into your thick skull?

I was merely advising you to read comments carefully, so that you don't miscontrue what is being conveyed. I apologize if you felt bad. I meant no disrespect! Maybe i should have worded the sentence more formally.

Please read comments carefully next time, before commenting.

However, i was very irritated with Imperium's bold-faced accusations towards me and lack of acknowledgement of his own mistakes. After reading the following, i got even more irritated which is what led me to make the quoted statement.

Now, the million dollar question is, that publishing Wikipedia is under Indian or American law? If American, then yes, fair use can apply to encyclopedias and a rationale made to use it.

Anyway, i don't think that the concerned comment can even vaguely be construed as an insult. You are being unnecessarily over-sensitive. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 06:08, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your conflict with Imperium

I am not going to ascribe fault as to "who started it" at this point, but the ANI discussion went absolutely beyond acceptable limits on both of your sides.

Any further abusive behavior by you - responding to him, or new content - will result in a block.

I sincerely hope that you and Imperium will not interact in the future. Please stay away from each other.

Thank you. Georgewilliamherbert (talk) 07:35, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am totally disillusioned by what has happened there. This fellow get's away with his name calling (Specimen, Judas Iscariot) and insult to my intelligence. He called me a "Specimen" on the ANI board itself. And when i criticize him for his conduct after he slanders me, i am accused of being verbally abusive, in spite of the fact that i have nowhere responded likewise. I have merely criticized his conduct (albeit harshly, i admit), without passing any judgement on his intelligence and character. Dishonest lies and conduct merit harsh criticism. I reckon that as per Wikipedia rules, there are no prohibitions in doing so. How can one who has viewed the discussion expect to take WP:PA seriously, if they feel that the administrators themselves don't care to figure out who is at fault and who isn't? Hi

Hi Joyson, just heard that an emergency has been declared in Bahrain. I pray for the well being of you, your loved ones and everyone at large. Take care. Imperium Caelestis 16:51, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Imperium and AshLin, i can't describe in words as to how moved i am by the level of concern you both have shown for me. The situation has become very tense here. I'm very glad that the Saudi and Emirati troops are finally here. This emergency will go on for three months. There were a couple of attacks on South Asians in Manama on the 12th. Over fourteen people were butchered with swords and 400 foreigners injured by Shia miscreants. I live in Salmabad, a Shia neighborhood. As such, i carry a knife with me at all times for self-defense. Just yesterday, there was firing here by Bahraini police on Shia demonstrators that left two dead. Business has gone down. The garages, convenience stores and supermarkets have been closed since yesterday. The rations at home are low as well. I don't know for how long this will continue. Thanks again for the wishes! Atheist lists and answering "no" to the god question

Joyson, this has been discussed extensively, and specifically in terms of BLPs, and consensus is that it is not sufficient to answer no to that question if we want to add a living person to a list of atheists and/or to categorize them as such. Sociologists have shown, over the years, that there are a significant group of people who answer that questions "no" but also reject the label "atheist". You may not agree with those people, but due to our BLP policies we have to respect that fact, and reserve this label for those who have shown active use of it. Cheers.Griswaldo (talk) 14:26, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Kargil War. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

  • BTW, this edit wasn't really necessary as it would place the image directly underneath the header, a rather awkward position for any image file to be in if we can help it. Usually, an image file should be planted on the right side when placed near the top of the header, then only we can start planting other image files on the left side in the main body of text below. Do you understand what I mean? --Dave ♠♣♥♦™№1185©♪♫® 19:26, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice! I know this is no excuse, but i was very busy that day. So, i forgot to mention the reason in the edit summary. I shall take care not to repeat this in the future. :-) Yes, i do understand what you mean! You are not exactly communicating with a functional illiterate here. Regarding the alignment of the image, as per WP:MOS "it is often preferable to place images of faces so that the face or eyes look toward the text." Vajpayee's face, in this case, is obviously directed towards the right side. Hence, it is more appropriate to re-align the image on the left side instead. Furthermore, neither the above guideline nor Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(layout)#Images states that an image must not be put directly beneath the header, or that the top image of a section must be right-aligned. It instead states that '"Infoboxes, images and related content in the Lead must be right-aligned." Joyson Noel Holla at me! 09:52, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copyedit and copyvio

Hi

I have just started a copyedit on Corruption in India and found a rather blatant piece of copyvio Talk:Corruption_in_India#Copyedit.

I have not followed procedure, rather opted for the lowest level (noting on the talk page) and have not tagged it with the copyvio template to allow you a days grace in correcting this and any other similar problems.

I cannot stress how important it is that this be fixed - if it is not, or I find any more, then I will have to follow procedure WP:COPYVIO. Chaosdruid (talk) 00:25, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am not a contributor to this article. See this. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 08:31, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have informed the main contributor. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 09:10, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
K, thanks for that. I have tagged it with the copyvio tag for further investigation, informed the main contributor and will also take a quick look to see if there is any more that should be removed. I appreciate that you are not the main contributor, only the nominator for a copyedit - this is merely me keeping you updated. I think that it would be best to withdraw the copyedit request at this point as it seems there is moore than a simple single case of copypaste going on here Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2011 April 26. Juvenile nonsense

Dear Joyson, please refrain from edit warring and uncivil attacks as per Wikipedia:Civility. Your constant re-aligning of the image in Mario Scelba distorts the lay out of that article and is not at all necessary according to the guidelines. You say it is often preferable to place images of faces so that the face or eyes look toward the text. Often is not the same as always. I am quite disappointed with your insistence on this minor issue, I thought we had a better relationship than that. - DonCalo (talk) 14:34, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't violated WP:CIVIL. My criticism was aimed at your conduct and not your personality. There are no guidelines against that. Why did you edit war with me earlier, instead of engaging in a discussion? Did you expect me to take it coolly, after you copy-pasted my comment in your edit summary in a deliberate attempt to spite me. I was very annoyed, as i believed that i was abiding by the rules. I was also annoyed by your reverting my edits a few days ago, without even bothering to elaborate on either the edit summary or the talk page. If you felt that i was wrong about the guideline, then you should have contacted me and explained how. Regarding the image, you are right, "often" does not mean "always". It should be more clear. I have raised the issue over here. For the time being, i'll revert my own edit in the article, and let it be as it was. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 15:08, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I look at the article in question, having the image on the left, on my monitor, leaves a narrow ribbon of text between the image and the infobox; many readers find that as distracting as having the car running out of the text; a slight variation of parameters would leave a canal of white space, with no text at all, which would be worse still. This is why MOS recommends against sandwiching images.

This is a choice between evils. Discuss them calmly. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 22:23, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Joyson, thanks for your understanding and I am sorry if my reverts annoyed you. On my computer there is no such narrow text but it fits perfectly. We will never be able to satisfy everybody because of the different size of screens and options for design in Wikipedia. However, I think this is the best solution, although it might no be perfect. Have a nice day. - DonCalo (talk) 06:47, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
@ Septentrionalis: My edit was to align the image on the right and move it below to prevent sandwiching of text between the infobox and image.
@ Don Calo: I apologize if my comment offended you. That wasn't my intention. The image alignment is a minor issue, and not worth getting worked up over. So, let's just leave it at that. Good day! Joyson Noel Holla at me! 07:52, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help Needed

Hello Joyson, I would be gratefull if you would participate with me for building up the page Goa Medical College. And yes I wish to admire you for your work on Froilano de Mello. We can work along on many other Goa-centric pages. Please do respond. Cheers even Im 21! Hi Ankush, thanks for contacting me. I have done some minor edits to the article and also left some suggestions in the talk page. However, i'm sorry to say that certain time constraints prevent me from accepting your request to collaborate. I spend most of the day managing my father's garage; and even the amount of free time i do have, is mostly spent working on the series of articles i already have in mind; as can be ascertained from the "Sandbox" section of my user page. I will, however, be glad to provide you with feedback, if needed.
By the way, is the Escola Médica de India in Panjim the same as the Goa Medical College? Last week, i created an article on the physician Francisco Luís Gomes who studied in the college and also served as the institution's Chief Surgeon in 1860. I also previously created articles on the physician José Gerson da Cunha and journalist Luís de Menezes Bragança. Do check them out! :-) Regards, Joyson Noel Holla at me! 11:59, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Escola Médica de India (de Goa) was the old name of this college in Portuguese rule, after liberation the Indian Government rather Medical Council of India changed it to Goa Medical College. I have gathered adequate information with verifiable sources, including interviews of some eminent doctors regarding the history, but because I'm in final year of my MBBS, I would be able to come here only on weekends to work. Its really unfortunate to see very few Goans on wikipedia and less of medical students in general. But no offence its due to our hectic studies. Anyways thanks, I will mail you my email in case we can have a nice chat regarding topics of common interests. Thanks for replying and being polite as well. Deepika Padukone

Hi Joyson,

I noticed you made a change on Deepika Padukone, notably the addition for Konkani and Kannada transliterations. This issue had been discussed previously on the relevant talk page and the consensus was to simply add the transliteration of the language that is notable to the subject's popularity. In Deepika's case, it is the Hindi film industry. Please contribute to that discussion if you feel the consensus is not appropriate. For now, I have reverted your additions. I look forward to your feedback on the talk page for that article. ¬ Aog hac 2z | 21:43, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I read the discussion, dude. Thanks for bringing it to my attention in the edit summary. I agree with Xavier449 that as per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English), transliterations should normally be avoided, unless the name cannot be pronounced accurately in English. And in this case, since it needs to be transliterated, a Hindi transliteration would be more appropriate, given her notability as a Bollywood celebrity. Tony Corallo pic

Hi, the image of Tony Corallo you upload here File:Corallo.gif has no licensing rights; I found these alternative images of Anthony Corallo first one here "Anthony Corallo mugshot"; the second one "Anthony Corallo mugshot 1980s". These two images look like police mugshots, which should make them free images. I don't known how to upload images, so can you upload these two images. Thanks --Vic49 (talk) 16:14, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It would be fine to have the file deleted, provided that an alternative free equivalent is available. However, in this case, it cannot be established as to which mugshots these are. Police mugshots are not free images. These are taken by the state government agencies and can only be used under fair use terms, while images belonging to the federal government and their agencies like FBI, DEA, ATF, CIA, etc, fall under the public domain, as per US copyright law. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 16:25, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help, I was looking for free images because some user is getting images deleted. He submitted File:Carminetramunti1.jpg for deletion, I found two alternatives here and it has UPI file photo; are these images free, UPI (I think stands for United Press International) or do all images need to be federal images fall into the free category. Can you check them maybe they pass the rules? Thanks again. --Vic49 (talk) 17:30, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All the pre-1991 photos of United Press International (UPI) are now owned by CORBIS. Their images are copyrighted. Furthermore, post-1991 UPI images aren't free either, but are allowed for fair-use. See this. However, in other cases, Press images cannot be used for fair-use. My suggestion would be to study the copyright and image use guidelines in Wikipedia. If you can positively ascertain that an image is in the public domain, or already released under a free license (for instance, Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0), then feel free to use it. You can also contact the respective author of a particular image (even if he belongs to a media agency) and request him to release it under a free license. He can send an email to Commons; asserting his ownership of the image and it's release under a free license. Then an OTRS ticket will be issued by an OTRS volunteer, and the image can be used. Re: The retard is back again

Hi Joyson, I don't know if it is the same retard. However, the image of Michele Greco should not have been moved to Commons. By the way, have a look at this one [4]. - DonCalo (talk) 07:37, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree about Michele Greco. It should be deleted from Commons. However, i'm positive that it is him, for certain reasons.
  • The most convincing fact is that the account is used exclusively to create deletion requests for Italian Organized Crime, and Jewish related articles.
  • He has inserted some nonsensical text on the user page to make his account appear blue.
  • He does not sign with tildes at the end of his comment.
  • He just goes on recklessly adding deletion tags to images, including the Gangland.com images which are FBI mugshots. In this case, he uses the reason, "Gangland.com, All Rights Reserved.", just like the banned user.
It would be quite a strange coincidence to me, if it weren't him. My guess is that he moved to Commons, because he was getting regularly caught here in Wikipedia. Anyway, i just thought you should know, since you still regularly contribute to Italian organized crime articles. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 08:59, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You have a point there and thanks for the warning and support. - DonCalo (talk) 02:07, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Joyson, Thanks for the kind note.

I also noticed that you removed the snetence about Jains not considering themselves as bunts. Do you know of any South Kanara Jains that refer to themselves as bunts? Jains are a completely separate community and were the erstwhile rulers of South Kanara. All the feudal kingdoms of South Kanara were of Jains. In Karnataka, the Jain history goes back to about 3rd ~ 4th BC when Chandragupta Maurya (the founder of Maurya empire) renounced the world and followed Bhadrabahu, a disciple of Mahavira (founder of Jain faith) and came to Shravanabelagola. Ever since, and till Ramanuja converted the Hoysala Bittideva (Jain name) to Vishnuvardhana, Karnataka for the most part including South Kanara was ruled by Jains. Even after the Hoysalas became Vaishnavas, the rulers in Soth Kanara (In Barkur, Karkala, Moddabidri, Padubidri, Mulki, Padumale, Sural (you get the idea, all the feudal kings) were jains. Some reference for this could be found in DD Kosambi's books and articles where he documents original field research and documented historical evidences. Images for deletion

Hi, I have nominated some of your uploads for deletion at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2011 May 29. You may want to take a look. Hey, if you allow me a personal advice, you should really stop uploading files until you get a better understanding of our polices and mission, not to say fair use in general. For instance, that we can't find a free image to use, it does not follows that we can grab images from newspapers and use. There's something fundamentally wrong with that. Also, we should avoid images we download from websites that do not care about copyrights, like personal tripod/geocites websites. Anyway, these are just some of the problems. Thanks, --Damiens.rf 17:33, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your advice, but no thanks. I uploaded those images back in 2008, or early 2009. Surely, i have learnt since then. I have stopped uploading these images. Feel free to nominate for deletion any other images i may have uploaded which violates fair-use. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 07:20, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, i take offense at your statement until you get a better understanding of our polices and mission. I have been a long term contributor to Wikipedia and am well aware with it's polices and mission. Least of all, i do not need you to tell me what the core policies and mission are. As for the other problems, assuming that there are any, just go ahead and tell it to my face. However, if there aren't any, then i suggest that you have the common decency not to make any defamatory accusations towards someone you are not familiar with. Either substantiate it, or be quiet! Joyson Noel Holla at me! 07:51, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh by the way, if i recall, aren't you the fellow who nominated the Shalhevet Pass image for deletion, under the ingenious reason that all babies look alike? And you are the guy advising me to achieve a better understanding of our polices and mission. Judging from complaints registered at your talk page and your bizarre reasoning behind many nominations, not to mention your being banned from editing BLP's for three months, it is apparent that you don't have an inkling of what you are doing here in Wikipedia. So, i would counter-suggest that you sharpen your ability to reason, before advising others on achieving a better understanding of our polices and mission. You're deleting my work!

What do you mean by reverted due to the lack of an edit summary? Please explain. I added a clear description, in English obviously, on each picture. What's wrong with them?

I also want to let you know that the pictures I'm TRYING to post, and that you keep on removing them, were made by me in 2010 especially for Wikipedia. The ones that you keep bringing back are at least 6 years old, and they're not relevant anymore as almost every building in those old pictures is different nowadays, has a totally different purpose or has been renovated. Why won't you let me post those new (2010) pictures that reflect the current situation? Please stop bringing back those old, outdated 2005 pictures.

P.S. I bought a new camera, and I had in mind to make pictures of many Romanian cities that have outdated pics. on Wikipedia (I've seen a lot of those) But should I still waste my time? Since you're deleting everything.

Best Regards, George — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.115.70.79 (talk) 15:00, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What i meant was ' please specify a reason before removing content. You can't just remove images without specifying a reason. I don't understand what you mean by keep deleting your work. That was my only edit to the article. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 15:05, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reason

The reason I deleted those old pics is obvious, they're outdated and they don't reflect the present day reality anymore! I live in that city and I know that those old pictures are outdated. After 6-7 or so years, those old pics need to be replaced, don't you think? That's why I made a full set of pictures last year, to replace those existing pictures. And now when I did it, you removed my edit and my new pictures.

(Draegenz (talk) 15:17, 30 May 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Remove the images, but please remember to specify a reason in the edit summary. It is necessary. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. See Help:Edit summary for more information on this feature. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 15:24, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

Ok, sorry, my bad then. I didn't knew this could have been confused with vandalism, since I added new pics as well, not just deleted the old ones. But it's my mistake for not reading the rules properly.

Verbal abuse by IP

In response to your report at Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, I have given the semiprotection you asked for, deleted the abusive talk page comments and edit summaries, and blocked the IP range. At present I have only blocked the IP range for a fairly short time, as I am always reluctant to place a long block on an IP range that looks as though not all edits are from the same person. However, I don't see any useful or constructive recent edits from the IP range, so if the trouble restarts after the current block expires I will be willing to consider placing a longer block. I have actually given your user page indefinite semiprotection, as there is normally no need for anyone other than you to edit it, but you can of course request unprotection if you don't want it to be indefinite. I have semiprotected this talk page for a month, as you suggested. This can, of course, cause collateral problems for innocent unregistered or newly registered editors who have legitimate reasons for posting here. A useful way of dealing with that problem which you may like to consider is to have another talk page for new and unregistered and users to post to, and a note on this page pointing to it. Of course that makes it possible for the troublesome editor to post there instead of here, but my experience is that they usually don't. It seems that trolls don't enjoy trolling if they think that their efforts will be invisible to most editors. Anyway, it's up to you whether to do that. Do feel welcome to contact me if the problem continues. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:53, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Help me Joyson..

First Thanks a lot Joyson for your warm welcome and the delicious cookies. I've been a very constant and frequent reader of Wiki but started editing just recently.

Joyson, can you help me identify few administrators here esp the ones looking in and for Bollywood. I've been having a little trouble with one of the user editors here who has been a quite active Wikipedian and have wrote numerous articles on the famous Bollywood people and movies. He claims to be reverting vandalism but an observation on his loves and interests by anyone will find out that hes now actually started vandalizing other famous Actors and movies who belong to his favorite actors rival camp.

What does Wikipedia do in such a situation when their Major editors with immense contribution turn nasty about how and what they feel and believe is correct and no matter what the world says they just remain blind, dumb and deaf. I don't mind mentioning his name but was just speculating if this article is visible to everybody over here coz am still not sure how Wikipedia actually works.

Thanks Maneesh 10:04, 22 June 2011 (UTC)
