The airline was founded in 2015 by businessman Jorge Soriano and two partners. The company is created in 2015 by catalan businessman Jorge Soriano alongside two Spanish associates.
Andorra Airlines publicly announced its launch in February 2016, in an announcement at the andorran congress, and planning the beggining of activities at the end of the year. However, the bankruptcy of the investment fund in charge of the funding of the company forced the Andorra Airlines to suspend its initial activities, that consisted in regular lines from Andorra-La Seu airport toward major Spanish and European cities.
In 2020 the company announced plans to resume flights toward Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Porto (Portugal), using ATR turboprop as well as small jet aircraft.

The original fleet that Andorra Airlines has scheduled consists of two ATRs (1 ATR42 y 1 ATR72) for minor flights. Further development plans include other twin-turboprop aircraft as well as reactors, based on capacity and range requirements.
