The 2020–21 season is Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli's 75th season in Serie A. Besides the Serie A, the club are competing in Italy's main domestic cup competition, the Coppa Italia, as well as the 2020 Supercoppa Italiana and the UEFA Europa League as winners of the 2019–20 Coppa Italia.[1]

Note: The match was initially scheduled to take place on 4 October, but Napoli abandoned the match sub judice after they did not travel due to COVID-19 concerns. On 14 October, Juventus were awarded a 3–0 victory by default and Napoli docked one point as the Disciplinary Commission ruled Napoli did not follow the COVID-19 protocol.[17] However, Napoli appealed the result to the Italian National Olympic Committee, and the verdict was overturned on 22 December, to be replayed.[18]

Supercoppa Italiana

Background

The 2020 Supercoppa Italiana will be the fourth time Napoli takes part in the competition, having already participated as Serie A champions once (1990) and as Coppa Italia winners twice (2012, 2014). Napoli won two of the previous three editions in which they played.[19]
