Fuzail Ahmad Nasiri (Urdu: مولانا فضیل احمد ناصری) is a Sunni Islamic scholar and an Urdu writer and poet from Bihar, India.[1] He is famous for "Hadīth-e-Ambar", his first poetic collection. He is currently serving Jamia Imam Anwar Shah at Deoband.[2]
Birth
Fuzail Ahmad was born in religious family of Nasir Ganj in Darbhanga, Bihar, India.[1] His great grandfather’s brother Maulana Shah Munawwar Ali Darbhangwi is among the well known disciples of Imdadullah Muhajir Makki. Maulana Jameel Ahmad Nasiri (1933-2014), father of Fuzail Ahmad, was among the early graduates of Darul Uloom Mau.
Education
Fuzail Ahmad Nasiri completed his primary studies with his father in Madrasa Mehr-ul-Uloom in Madhubani, a town in Bihar. He studied under Qari Shabbir Ahmad in Madrasa Diniya Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh and later at Madrasa Islamia in Darbhanga, Bihar. He graduated from Darul Uloom Deoband in 1998.[1][2][3]
Recognition
The All India Tanzeem Ulama-e-Haq awarded Fuzail Ahmad ‘Maulana Anzar Shah Kashmiri Award’ in 2014 during its Milli Convention. He was recently awarded with ‘Allama Iqbal Award’ in All India Quran Competition at Mumbai held on 2 March 2018.[4][5]
Career
Fuzail Ahmad began teaching in July 1999.[citation needed] He taught in the Darul Uloom Azizia in Mira Road for four years. During this time, he was a regular columnist of Urdu Times for two years and his articles also appeared in Roznama Inqelab.[citation needed] Later he taught at Madrasa Faizan-ul-Quran and Jamia Darul Quran in Ahmedabad, Gujarat for nearly four years. Since 2008, he has taught hadith at Jamia Imam Anwar Shah, Deoband.[2][1] Fuzail Ahmad serves the Jamia as Vice Administrator of Education since 10 January 2018.[2]
Poetry
Fuzail Ahmad started his poetry from 1996. He is among the pupils of Kalim Ajiz but his accent is completely different from that of Kalim Ajiz.[1]His first poem was checked out and corrected by Kalim Ajiz. His first poetic collection Hadees-e-Ambar consists of hamd, naat, nazm, ghazal etc. and is over and about 250 pages. Fuzail Ahmad wrote a poem about Mufti Taqi Usmani after he survived an assassination attempt.[6] Hafiz Faseeh Asif sung the poem, and it features on Message TV.[7]
