National symbols of Slovakia are the flag of Slovakia, the coat of arms of Slovakia, the Slovak state seal and the Slovak anthem. These are protected by law and have restrictions on their use and reproduction.[1] The Slovak flag and coat of arms derive from that used by the Kingdom of Hungary beginning in the 12th century under the reign of Bela III.[2]
