Benoît David

Benoît David (19 April 1966, Montreal) is a Canadian progressive rock singer.

David recently joined Mystery, appearing on their 2007 album Beneath the Veil of Winter's Face, and has also been the vocalist for a Yes tribute band, Close to the Edge.[3]

"In The Present"

In 2008, David was announced as the lead singer of a line-up headed by Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White of Yes for a tour later that year.[4][5] David came to the attention of Yes bassist Chris Squire through his work with Close to the Edge and will stand in for Jon Anderson, who had become unable to tour because of ill health following acute respiratory failure earlier in the year.[6]

Squire has expressed hope that Anderson will return to Yes at a future date. With Squire's own health concern delaying the tour once again, David will return to work with Mystery and Close to the Edge.

David has rejoined Yes, along with Oliver Wakeman, on their Summer 2009 tour with 80's prog supergroup Asia.[7]

In concert with Yes in Columbus, OH, 2008.
