Hameed (Arabic:حمید) is a village in Chhachh valley, Hazro Tehsil, Attock District, Punjab province, Pakistan. Hameed is located in the west of chhachh [1] area about 4 km from Hazro [2] city. Hameed has its own Union Council including other surrounding villages.

History

The name "Hameed" (Arabic:حمید) means "Prasie worthy, He who is the only one to be praised and glorified and thanked by all creatures." It is also a name of Allah (God) in Islam.

Its came in hear that first person who came in this area for living is an Hindu and his name was Hami Das. By the passage of time as increasing Muslim population its became a small village named Hameed (having Islamic origin and meaning) from the name of Hami Das.

At the time of partition of India this area becomes a part of Pakistan and all Hindu migrated to Bharat so now total population is Muslim.
