This was done to place that image in closer proximity to the second paragraph re "Thanksgiving" in the Colonial Revival section so that the 1925 painting might be more readily compared visually with the 1914 painting of the First Thanksgiving. I would have preferred to posion the 1925 painting closer to the 1914 Thanksgiving painting, but I did not know how to do so. Perhaps a more experienced editor can do so later. undo

  • curprev 23:5123:51, 14 December 2018Bartonellison talk contribs 38,060 bytes +682 Text and thumb image have been added re Brownscombe’s recreated Thanksgiving painting in 1925 which pointedly omitted the anachronistic Plains Indian headdresses that appeared in her 1914 First Thanksgiving painting. I consider this pertinent information that readers and art historians need to know, as it serves to somewhat dampen earlier criticism re Plains Indian headdresses that were depicted in her 1914 painting. undo
