Players from the Royal Challengers Bangalore have recorded twelve centuries so far, out of which five have been scored by Chris.[1]

In cricket, a batsman reaches a century when he scores 100 or more runs in a single innings. A century is regarded as a landmark score for a batsman, and his number of centuries is generally recorded in his career statistics.[2] The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional league for Twenty20 cricket in India,[3] which has been held annually since its first edition in 2008.[4] In the nine seasons played, 42 centuries have been scored by 27 different batsmen. Players from eight of the eleven franchises have scored centuries; the only franchises that have not had a player score a century for them are Pune Warriors India, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad.[5]

The first century in the IPL was scored in the first match on 18 April 2008 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore made by Brendon McCullum for Kolkata Knight Riders against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.[6] The highest score in the competition was made by Chris Gayle, who scored 175 runs not out for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India.[5] The fastest century in terms of strike rate was scored by Yusuf Pathan, who scored 100 runs in 37 balls while playing for the Rajasthan Royals.[5] The slowest century was scored by Sachin Tendulkar for the Mumbai Indians against the Kochi Tuskers Kerala. He scored 100 runs not out in 66 balls at a strike rate of 151.51.[5]

The highest number of centuries have been scored by Chris Gayle with five centuries,[7] followed by Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers with four and three centuries respectively. Brendon McCullum, Adam Gilchrist, David Warner, Virender Sehwag, Shane Watson and Murali Vijay have scored two centuries each.[5] Twelve centuries have been made by players of the Royal Challenger Bangalore, which is more than any other team.[5] The Kings XI Punjab and the Kolkata Knight Riders have conceded the greatest number of centuries, with six each.[5]

The first part of this list includes all IPL centuries organised in a chronological order. The second part of the list provides an overview of centuries by IPL seasons, and the third part provides an overview of centuries by IPL teams. Teams are initially listed in alphabetical order.[α][β][γ]
