Northern Theater Command is one of the five war zones of People's Liberation Army, was founded in February 1, 2016, its predecessor is the Shenyang Military Region.
Its jurisdiction includes Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, and Inner Mongolia.[original research?][citation needed]
The first commander Song Puxuan, political commissar Chu Yimin.
