Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem is a hotel and casino located in the Bethlehem Works development site in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley region of eastern Pennsylvania, in the United States.
The casino is owned, operated, and constructed by the Las Vegas Sands corporation. It is one of five stand-alone casinos that was awarded a slots license by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on December 20, 2006. The casino was slated to open in July 2008, but demolition took longer than expected due to the heavy concrete foundations of the old steel building. Its opening was delayed until the second quarter of 2009. The first concrete for the complex, which is located on the former Bethlehem Steel land on the South side of the city, was poured on November 15, 2007.
The casino opened May 22, 2009. In the winter of 2009–2010, the casino was granted a license for table games which allowed the casino to expand to include 180 table games of Poker, Blackjack and Craps. Table games began operation on July 18, 2010. The Sands Hotel opened on May 27, 2011. The Sands Bethlehem is the only property in the company to end 2014 with a profit, doing better than Sands' Vegas and Asia properties.
Since expansion in November 2009, Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem features over 3,000 slot machines, 200 table games, and several electronic table games. While the Las Vegas Sands Corporation owns a number of properties, this is the only casino of the three the Corporation owns in the United States to carry the Sands brand in its name, since the original Las Vegas Sands was demolished and replaced with The Venetian, and the Sands Atlantic City was sold and demolished. In November, 2016 Sands Bethlehem announced a planned expansion of the gaming floor to also include two additional restaurants.
On May 27, 2011, the Sands Casino Hotel Bethlehem opened. It features 302 rooms, 22 suites, 12,000 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool and a fitness center.
The hotel features these room types: Deluxe Queen Room, Deluxe King Room, Executive Suite, and Presidential Suite. There are 16 Executive suites and 6 Presidential suites.
Free parking is available in the surface lot next to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center or in the parking garage next to the casino.
Valet parking is available 7-days-a-week for an additional fee at the porte cochere at the casino main entrance and hotel lobby entrance.

Sands Bethlehem Event Center
The Sands Bethlehem Event Center was designed by Howard Kulp Architects of Salisbury Township. Conceptualized and executed by Vision Entertainment Group and operated by SMG, the event center features 14,000 sq ft (1,300 m2) of flexible multipurpose space, which accommodates meetings, conventions, and a variety of entertainment events. The Sands Bethlehem Event Center, which hosts A-list performers, comedians, internationally recognized DJ’s, boxing, MMA, trade shows, conferences, speaking engagements, and private functions, holds up to 2,250 seats or up to 3,500 people standing.
Constructed in May 2014, the mezzanine level added 158 additional seats and 150 feet of additional space to the Event Center.
Vision Bar, located next to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, is regarded as one of the most popular nightclubs in the Lehigh Valley.
Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival
The Sands Casino & Resort Bethlehem has 5,000 sq ft (460 m2) of meeting space with 3,000 sq ft (280 m2) of pre-function and exhibition space. For example, the hotel hosts the yearly Lehigh Valley Food & Wine Festival, held at the end of May/early June to benefit the culinary and hospitality program at Northampton Community College.
Sands spent $26 million to add these 119 games: 41 blackjack tables, four craps, four roulette, four three-card poker, five mini-baccarat, four midi-baccarat, four pai gow, one Big Six, two Let It Ride, two Caribbean stud, four Texas Hold'em Bonus, one Casino War, one sic bo and 12 poker tables.
