The Science and Technology Minister of Israel is the political head of the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology and a relatively minor position in the Israeli cabinet. The current minister is Daniel Hershkowitz of The Jewish Home. Raleb Majadele, who held the post between 2006 and 2009, was the country's first Muslim minister.

The post has undergone several name changes:

  • 1982-84: Minister of Science and Development
  • 1984-88: Minister of Science and Technology
  • 1988-93: Minister of Science and Development
  • 1993-96: Minister of Science and the Arts
  • 1996-97: Minister of Science
  • 1997-99: Minister of Science and Technology
  • 1999: Minister of Science
  • 1999-02: Minister of Science, Culture and Sport
  • 2003-04: Minister of Science and Technology
  • 2006-09: Minister of Science, Culture and Sport

Between 1949 and 1999, and again from 2003 until 2006, culture was part of the Education Minister portfolio. Similarly, sport was part of the Education Minister post between 1994 and 1999 and 2003 and 2006. With the creation of Benjamin Netanyahu's government in March 2009, Culture and Sport was made a separate portfolio.

There was once a Deputy Minister.
