The result of the move request was: not moved. Odd nomination. Guidelines will always have exceptions but if you want to make one you will need to actually make a good case for it. Jenks24 (talk) 18:23, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

Full name
[edit]We need a source for his full name Barnett McFee Clinedinst Jr. (born 1862) and that of his father Barnett M. Clinedinst (c. 1836), stated in the lead as , Sr.
The cited NY Times obituary of 1862 says only "son of the late Barnett Clinedinst, an early photographer", with no identification of either as senior or junior. And it lists survivors including "Barnett M. Clinedinst Jr. of Detroit" --which implies that 1862 is "Senior".
Citing the same obituary, Library of Congress notes "brother of artist Benjamin West Clinedinst & son of early photographer Barnett Michael Clinedinst" [1], but the obituary does not give "Michael", nor any middle name or initial.

- "Barnett McFee Clinedinst, Sr." or "Barnett Michael Clinedinst". If they each had a different middle name they would still be "Barnett M. Clinedinst, Sr." and "Barnett M. Clinedinst, Jr." I will see what I can find, but your one reference looks pretty good. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 19:22, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
- Sometimes the Jr and Sr designations change, skipping to next generation when the older generation dies. So this guy could have been both Jr and Sr. Sources are slim on these, so it's not clear how best to represent such things. Dicklyon (talk) 21:04, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
- I looked at my notes that I kept at Familysearch and I was stuck at this same point when I created the article. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 02:31, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
