AFD closing note

[edit]

I have closed the AFD for this and related article as keep. However:

  • Sources need to be added to this and related articles, in order to comply with wikipedia's policies,
  • Editors more involved with music related articles should consider if readers would be better served by merging some of the song/album articles, so that the available information doesn't have to be repeated and scattered over multiple pages.

I have, as I'm sure the editors that were involved in the deletion debate have, taken your notes into consideration. However, Keeps are not issued with caveats. The article (assuming that all deletion debates are handled the same way) was declared keep-able because it met with the necessary standard of an article to keep it (at least that's what's suppose to happen). It was not kept because more people cried keep than delete. There's work that needs to be done to this and a billion other articles, yes, but what do you set out to accomplish by putting this 'eye on you' notice here after deciding that the article was a clear keep? I've turned your notes into article notice templates as they're more suited for that kind of thing I think. But if you want to formally suggest any merges, you do it. The single and album articles I found are all notable according to the Music project and they're substantial enough to be improved rather than sewn together or culled.  æronphonehome  16:06, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The above points are not caveats to the AFD closing or "eye on you notice" (not sure what gave you that idea). They are simply suggestions on how this group of articles can be improved and brought into compliance with wikipedia policies. Since I am not particularly interested in the topic per se, I'll leave it to the involved editors to adopt them if they wish to devote the time and effort to make the coverage encyclopedic. Cheers.
